how to avoid draw down?

tho trade is in right direction how shud one avoid draw downs?

Newby here. I dont know the answer to your question but I am very interested in your tagline....what is the code you have cracked to make it to the elusive 5%??

Simple, don't trade.

Really you need to accept & live with them.

you need 3 years of exclusive screen time(starring at charts) for that...there is no easy way to crack that code.

but i am still strugling with draw downs which i want to avoid.

You just set a limit and then stop trading, if you are losing money trade after trade, even though you consider yourself a decent trader, your strategy just doesn't suit he market you are trading in and it is unlikely to change, since the market will continue to do what the market is doing.

This may sound redundant but ALL traders experience draw downs. This is because NO on can accurately or consistently predict the future. If that were possible we'd all be rich. Draw downs are a natural part of this business and cannot be avoided.

However, the amount and duration of your draw down is absolutely under your control...YOU decide when or when NOT to trade. You decide IF you are going to trade and YOU decide how much to risk in each trade.

Set yourself limits that work for your system ,example I use about 2% risk per trade and risk no more than 6% per month from the start of the month.
