fana there is a thin line between prediction and experience. lets use the driving analogy again. when you drive a car to a certain location day in day out, you will tend to know the time where the road used is jammed, then you will slowly learn which lanes to be taking to get past the traffic faster, you will then tend to know where the police hide em selves with their speed camera after some painful lessons....stop harboring the concept of prediction being something similar to market experience, coz you are talking on a whole new level.

plus, know the car you drive, dont expect to be racing head on with a V8 when youre a mere straight 4.

Not every thing learned applies all the time, some don't fit the student, some don't fit the markett, but it doesn't make the study bad. You need to understand or better stated intimately know the tool, and how and when to use it....

What happened 1908-1923, 1923-1933, 1933-1946 and after 1946? I heard Gann died a broken man so he had losing streaks also. FTI explained how Gann did it (read post #1568 and follow up posts), Gann as he traded (NOT what he published) inspired fti in formulating his own methodology.

Gann danced
Gann was not rigid (water analogies)
Gann understood The Law of Motion (follow trend)
Gann understood The Principle of Vibration. Although cycle and time factor govern all things, it is NOT the cycle of astrology or geometry, but simply cycles governed by the banal law of supply and demand (“Legend Interviewed by Wyckoff in 1909”) - Robert traded wheat by predicting climate, climate affects harvest and harvest affects supply.
Edit: may be Gann's pyramiding and math inspired fti skew and use of phi and pi (skew can be by any factor also)

I am going to do a plan for myself how to study it in the right way and dont go wrong. Next month i will evaluate my first year in forex. That warning is actuall. I tend to study something from higher classes before i finished the current desirable. Thank you for helping with correct studies set up. I still tend to science and searching. I miss science research. Regards

But if i can, now i have to disagree with those who want to finish debate about Gann.
Fti on the first page! write about principes and discoveries. Gann is there. It is a part of what he was so kind to share.

Gann, studies... been there done that for several years now, time/price squaring, square root movements, ect, ect... love it, but I don't incorporate much of it into my trading. Much of my studies now days are for the pleasure and satisfaction I get from them, not to necessarily to draw on my charts.

You will find if you dig deep enough most are inner related, and there's easier ways to solve, but most people want crystal clear pin point exact answers, and I'm not sure you're gonna find that given the nature of price quoting via internet brokerages.

Again, if you want to study Gann and the 1000 mutations, go ahead, but this forum isn't the place for such studies, you're not going to find what your looking for here. The question you will have to answer is what is worth studying and what's not...... only you can decide that by spending literally 1000's of hours working the material over the charts, then you will have to figure out how to use that information to benefit your trading. I'm not sure you actually understand the nature and depth of the studies you want to start, however..........

Gro has given you several areas to start.

Again, you're putting the cart in front of the horse. Master price action first and then go deep, if you start with Esoteric studies it will hamper your progress.

But if your still hellbent on going after Gann, Good luck,

Hi auxesis

This thread mutated to "rescue and fibo" but we in the ARTS (perspective,color mixing,canvas,Golden cut,harmony ratio etc.).I Painting by their 4-year and I say 10% talent and 90% hard work.
Without FTI no studies Gann and vice versa.
"FTI trust and do not sacrifice his only son" = alfa and omega

PS cycle - you remember the birth of sons FTI? (something special? ... Probably not)

Perhaps we have again reached a point where we must ask, where is the thread going? The discussions on sprials and Gann are interesting, but without fti's paricipation (and I think he has opted out of discussion) my impression is that we are just guessing (at best) or are on the wrong path all together (worst case). Prediction and rescue seem to dominate now. It seems to me -- IMHO -- that discussion about perfecting the execution of the material that fti has layed out in this thead is an appropriate use of this space.

To all new participants including Fana, perhaps you should stay focused on fti's teachings rather than expand the trading universe to include material that fti is not an active participant. Perhaps we need a guideline that says a topic like Gann should not be actively discussed here until the individual raising the topic can explain how it will add to the understanding of fti's material (not just because fti mentioned it, but that it is key and critical to understanding the material, and its execution).

Gro, it's not what I was thinking. We can replace magicians and witchcraft with traders and trading. I don't think it's too far off from fti's teachings. We can relate microcosmos and macrocosmos to our charts also (timeframes). "As above so below" as referred to by Gann.

In fact, I believe the "Tunnel thru the air" is our connection to a higher plane once we master a skill. As we build this tunnel, we bounce off the sides each time we make a mistake. We learn and continue until we either make it or become exhausted and fail.

Relating this to charts would be like a channel.

This is not just far off, but diametrically opposite to fti teaching

I only gave it very cursory read so I could be wrong

Edit: fti teaching is so simple and common sensical (often times the simple things are the hardest to learn to do well), do we really have to make things complex and transcendental? FTI stated "as above so below" simply mean short charts reflect long charts.

edit 2:
走火入魔 from kung fu novels if some practice is not carefully mentored the practitioner risks harm to himself ("the dark side"?) I fear this Gann business is the dark side.
