Great advice as always, thanks. Interesting in their own way how your 30 ema and the 8 lwma I use each capture the hl/lh's in their own way.

We got in on the move down your arrow left. Missed the 1st hl, for the life of me cannot remember why thats a bread and butter set up. We then got a re-quote on the 2nd arrow up and price went to far from our stop area.

For us getting in on that 1st trade up sets us up well (mentally + trade rules) as when price has moved too far and we've missed out completely we stay away from the final moves up (EV's last post). Getting in 1st trade on a 125+ move already is a no no for us.

Anyway mentally I am back in the game for tomorrow and I'm sure we will have lots of 5%+ days in the next 2 weeks!!!

You seem particularly happy with vol feed from Interbank. Had any thoughts about esignal or similar. I'm a bit stuffed here, tried using tick data feed platform (OK it was esignal) and was taking up to 20 mins to load all charts with the super speed internet connection we have here.

That clearly wasn't an option.

Fxpro had a similar vol spike same as you show.

Oh yes what I wanted to say again as its worth it, once a move has failed in a certain direction as we did this am around 4645, the chances are very high that the move in the opposite direction will yield the 125+ pips move. Thats the move that Mrs V has agreed to try and suspend her +20 pips 'bank' auto scream. I am one of the few traders that has an auto scream function.

As all that have read your thread should know bank pips in FH!!

Ive also been trying to catch these moves since i began trading. I found the cyrox rainbow quite helpful in this regard however im still unable to pick when they are going to happen.

I've spent $10,000s on data over the years - initially via satellite - had esignal for several when I was using Wave59 and also used Genesis for running other special software - $10,000s on that too http://cdn.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon11.gif - now I just use the free stuff - 3 MT4 platforms and IBFX seems fine for the way that I use volume - mainly as an alert - PA rules http://cdn.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Great thread. Nice to see that someone hasn't came along and tried to high jack it with some other stuff. Simple is best. Since I tade similar set up I thought I would share how I see the hour candle on the mailn chart with M5 candles.

It makes it nice if price does not return to the extreme of a strong candle, thus making a hl in the example. In fact alot of times with a strong hour canldle close price will return to the 50 percent area and fall. Just my two cents.
I would enter in the direction of momentum.

I took one trade today on GJ the main pair I trade. Had to leave so I put a take profit of 50 pips.

I incorporated V's 8 LWMA just as a visual reference works real well.....

GU daily has a nice hl to close at the key 50% fib level. I have W M4 at 4860. TWT if the move up is strong enough to break those key levels. Big boys went further short gbp last week so perhaps they are just letting move up to get better profits on a fall (waiting for central banks finish bolstering their currencies?).

1hr chart had a double top but the move could not take out the prev bars high. 15 min chart had 3 upper wicks in a row, confirming the struggle to move up culminating in a neg close inside candle.

5 min had a lh shooting star but we waited (incorrectly) for break of W M4. Anyway this was a lh sell at an extreme at an important level.

Mrs V has had a very nervous morning, I've never seen anyone concerntrate so hard on computer card games and (trying) to ignore what was going on with the charts.

She missed the 1st touch of 4800 as an exit and we got out when the move below failed for 56 pips, nice 5% ROI trade. It will prob go lower for the 125+ pip move but this was an important day for Mrs V to start moving away from 20 pips bank!!!!!!! Nice one.

Good morning Vantage, i m sorry but i just wanted to know if you can post all your templates, because i don t know why but when i tried to dowload all your indi from the first post their name is "attachement" , in fact there is only the "round number" indi who is writing as it suppose to be ! Thanks you Sir !

The short answer is I cannot, my template files are missing. Royston alerted me to this on the mql4 forum, lots of people have same problem:


"Lots of similar questions on this forum about missing files in Vista...

It's because of "file virtualization" which was added in Vista and later versions of Windows (see, for example, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb756960.aspx).

A bit of background: since at least Windows 2000, Microsoft's guidelines have been that applications should not store read-write user data within Program Files - e.g. MetaTrader's config, history, experts directories etc. MetaTrader has quite good reasons for doing this (because of the need to cater for multiple installations), but it's nevertheless breaking the rules and leading to confusion as a result.

In Vista, when a program tries to write to a file within Program Files, Windows transparently redirects the operation so that the file actually gets stored within the current user's area. The location is usually <user>AppDataLocalVirtualStore. AppData is a hidden directory, so you may need to change your Windows Explorer settings to make it visible. When software then tries to read a file from Program Files, Vista checks to see if there's a "shadow" copy in this VirtualStore area. If so, that takes precendence over the version within Program Files.

What Microsoft were trying to do with this "file virtualization" was (a) to make badly-behaved software work on Vista, but (b) without actually letting the software alter files within Program Files. The virtualization does work fine from MetaTrader's point of view - the software runs perfectly well on Vista - but it causes confusion for anyone who's looking for files which "ought" to be within Program Files but turn out not to be there."

Now to me these guys might as well be speaking Greek, all I know is any template I have created and saved in mt4 platform is not there when I (or anyone else) does a search to post here.

Took one HL trade today on GU. Turned out nicely was only looking to hit the 00 but got a few extra out with +22 to end the week. Have a good weekend everyone...

15.5 pips this morning.

0730GMT GBPUSD short 1.4894 exit 1.4884.
I wasn't sure about this trade so went for a fixed TP of 10.

0920GMT GBPUSD long 1.4880 exit 1.48815.
Thought there was going to be some movement but bottled out when it fell back.

1005GMT EURJPY long 113.31 exit 113.35.
Same rationale as above.

Its school hol's here and we've been baby sitting, we have BS duties tomorrow not sure what time we'll be free for trading. No trades done today just showing for the record.

Left arrow down. There were a couple of lh's earlier than this but the prior ones were closing just above the even number. The left arrow down is the first 100% system sell that I could see. 1hr doji, 15 min shooting star, 5 min lh with the close just below the even number and the close is at extreme of range little lower wick. When that continues its normally a good trade. The even number would no doubt have had me spooked but yet again the 100% system trade works out. Wasn't around to take, posting yet again to show 100% system trades works even on round number. I'll only trade in and around even numbers if convinced of direction.

There was another chance to get in with another shooting star around 4880.

The x, in the bigger picture this is a lh, I wouldn't have taken this trade as when price broke above 4875 we moved to the possibiity of hl's. That failed and the arrow down on right gave another lh possibility. The 1hr was a doji perhaps suggesting up so I'm not sure if we would have been in that.

EJ looks like good buy, just one of those things that it didn't have legs.

Your gu sell, very nice, 100% system so perhaps rather consider putting stop to BE to give trade a chance. Up to you.

It looks like your gu buy was entered 1 5 min candle too late. It didn't hurt here but with small stops that could be (will be) a problem later.

I am getting a lot better since I read the message you sent me a while back saying you and mrs V have come to the conclusion that 100% system trades are such high probability why do the ones your not sure about I did try to trade like Islander for a while trying to scalp every little move in the morning but wasn't very good at that haha. and like you say 20 pips a day is 40% a month and thats more than enough for me to make a living out of trading. I'm up 20 pips so far today got the 7.40am 5 min trade for 20 pips and then the 11.00am 5 min trade for 10 pips and had a 10 pip loss on the 10.00am 5min trade.
Thanks for all the time and effort you put in to your thread it helped me alot hopefully be getting 40% every month from now on!

Thats great to hear Luke, I'm really happy its helping. Make no mistake the 20 pip 2% days are fine, YOU WILL get some of these entries that turn into big days.
