sho's method:
momentum -> (retrace) -> price action


i personally like to see a litte retrace after mometum bars and then the priceaction confirming the way of the mometum bars. don't know if a retrace is a "must" but to me it seems a little bit more reliable. i think it's more the conservative way to trade sho's method.

hello sho,

it would be very nice if you could give a statement on this setup.. let's consider the kelthner in pointing down and we are not in sideways/uptrend..
one can see this setup appearing quite often (not only as an "inside-pinbar" but also as a pinbar just a little under the previous momentum bar) and as i posted in my last post, i prefer seeing a little retracement before I wait for PA to tell me to go in the direction of the momentum bar.. here we obviously have no retracement but would you say it's an a+ -setup?

Another pinbar, but after quite a big fall, don't know if momentum is still up.

Doesn't look good now, maybe it will retrace to green line.

Anyway, SL=20pips. Probably will be stopped out

hi Faithno, my view on this is, at the moment you posted that chart momentum has down already i would not go long on that pinbar unless i saw momentum changing up for me that was a short, it might make a 5 wave correction of the bigger momentum move up . Sorry for my ENGLISH TOO.

I can't post charts right now but look at the significant momentum bars on the 4hr charts.

On Cable price reached an area of resistance but after a typical retracement, there is a high probability (no guarantee) of price breaking up through to make new recent highs.

If you have access to USDLFX charts you will see USD breaking down out of it's one month range to make new lows for itself against a basket of currencies.

Thanx Thenew, nobody knows where the price will go next. I took it becouse it bounced from RN and was close to the green line which was once resistance, now became support.

Finally got me 20pips and seeing it now, I could have waited a bit longer.

Yes Rob,

The momentum is quite strong right now. It broke the resistance zone 1.476~1.477 (2 orange lines)

Let's remember that Cable has enjoyed a 200+ pip range already today which is good. Then again Friday enjoyed 250+.

But if we have more to come today, I'd anticipate the 1.4820 region - by looking at where previous 4hr bar highs had reached (on 7 May) and where later bar lows found support.

It looks as if there could be some further resistance around 1.4850 but that could be today or tomorrow ...if indeed price continues up.

Keep watching 15 minute price action.

...and don't take my word for it!

Watch out, H4 is pin now. In M15, wait for retracement, if it didnt break the resistance again (1.477 zone), could be a good short play.
