Thanks for these comments. I do find myself becoming more cautious and just looking for a few pips before closing. I have decided to set myself a goal of 20 pips a day & look to achieve that in a couple of quick (& hopefully high probability) trades.

Just keep in mind that if you're using a 20pip stop on EJ and aiming for 20 pips per day with TPs of 10, you would require a 66% win rate just to break even. Considering that Vantage has been using these methods for years and has a hit rate around 70-75%, it's a tall order - especially while learning. As I said before, sometimes when everything doesn't line up you might want to take those pips and run at the first sign of trouble, but when you have all signs in your favour, do what you can to hold on. You might need to work on trailing a stop but in the end getting your risk/reward with this method above 1:1 on average will help a lot.
I feel like I've been slapped around by a nine year old with a wet rag, totally emotionally drained. They say trouble comes in 3's I think I've now had my share. My mum fell earlier and went into shock etc etc whilst she's much better now it was not a good day.
maybe you should try signals from autotradingfx.com, this is very easy to follow

I want to learn something, develop my own skills and independance. Even if these signals are accurate now what happens when the site closes, it starts to charge, the predictions fail etc? It's not what I'm after & I always think these sort of notions are too good to be true - and somewhere down the line they usually are.

Not promoting the above site but I see nothing wrong in taking signals (even if paying) PROVIDED its from someone that provides a method of trading that you can learn and continue with whilst you are learning to trade.
Something to confess..My brain just freezed! Do we look at the candle thats already setup and trade that candle or the new developing 1 hr candle?

If you are looking at ej right now, 1hr has positive close, 15 min a shooting star at the prev high, they are contradicting. You're still on a 5 min hl so be careful.
There were several nice trades on E/J Asian session today. Right at TO there was a bounce off the DP (not taken), then later 2 very good system trades. Out too early on both, and dare I say it, as usual.

This is totally Mrs V's trade, thats the good. The bad is that she was on her own and chickened out a little for half size trade, thats not really bad but you know what I mean, the cup here is definitely half full.
OK 1hr had engulfing neg close, as did the 15 min. The 5 min had a very small hammer Mrs V entered when the hammer low failed, nice lh.
Exited half size for +42, so on full trade thats +21 or 2% ROI. Nice one.
Oh her exit was by accident, shouldn't have your figure on the button the whole time!!!
