EA vs Script?

What is the actual difference between script and expert advisor? I downloaded files that closes all opened positions. The thing is that I place such script or expert advisor in both directories, and they do work in both.

Scripts typically work as one time set of instructions or code to execute. The EAs operate continously, reacting to every tick to see if conditions are met to carry out their instructions.

There are times you only want to do something once, such as setting a SL for multiple orders. Scripts are much easier to write and test and should be used when appropriate.
