I am finding that also. It is clear that trading conditions are not as they were in 2005 and that we need a different exit strategy. I will add a breakeven and take profit as soon as rfking2 confirms that my addition of his code is in the correct place.

In the meantime, use mptm to monitor the trades.

Maybe I am being thick but isnt the strategy supposed to wait for a swing high or low before placing trades ?

Strange then.

There was a sing low on GBPJPY, the screen said that the last swing was high and it then placed a sell trade, which ofcourse hit SL in nano secondos.

I love your work, especially if it produces pips.

BUT

running the EA now for the second day, and I am getting results.

BUT

the nice pips are melting away in front of my babyblue eyes and the EA does not seem to activate a TS and/or any TPs.

Most probably I am overworked here in warm Mexico, but can you please hit me on the fingers with what I am doing wrong in the setup?

Have a long GU at the moment, triggered @ 1.2538, reached as high as 1.2585...............and now falling back to 1.2575 and...... ?????

Here you go Steve.

This is exactly the same as your last post with the snippet in the right spots. I created an extern so you can shut it off. Original and early entry need to be shut off for it to trade night mode correctly.

Our huge thanks go to rfking2 for a major contribution. Again.

His filter is included in the latest update - details in post 1.

I was thinking of adding break even and tp features to the robot. On reflection, I think we should use the flexibility of mptm instead. The new ManageSpecifiedPairs feature allow us to tailor the settings for individual groups such as the jpy pairs.

I have set up charts with numerous versions of this bot, so you might think I know how to set up the chart. But all my knowledge is futile with this latest version. Using the template as instructed in the user guide, I am not getting any visible Fibs. The Fibo object shows in the objects list on the chart, but there is no Fib to be seen, even after numerous ticks.

On screen information says:
Current Fib Size: 0.0000
Fib is not yet valid and cannot be traded

If I draw a new fib and name it Fibo, while deleting the original Fibo, the bot does not adjust the fib on the chart, even when drawn on a swing that does not meet the minimum fib size. Nor does the bot recognize the size of the fib drawn in the Current Fib Size information printed on the screen.

If I restart the MT4 platform, the fib I just drew "disappears" although Fibo still shows up in the objects list.

Same thing occurs on every chart/pair I try.

Can more than one instance of MPTM be run on one account, if setting each instance to manage specified pairs? If so, does each pair or group of pairs to manage need to have a different trade comment or magic number for that to work?

MT4 has a memory dump issue. After it uses up all your ram it will start using your hard drive and slow everything down and things wont work correctly. Is fxdd randomly crashing too? Try completely shutting down your comp to reset your ram and see if that works.

I have available RAM. But I will try your suggestion over the weekend since I'm running on a VPS with some live accounts.

In backtests of bot M5 default settings, I'm seeing what is a bug. Don't know if it is the bot or MT4.

Bot opens a sell trade and does not close it before opening a buy trade.

Backtest hangs at this point, even on broker demo that allows hedging. No errors in the Journal.

Have tried on three different broker platforms with same result at same trade.

BTW, these backtest attempts are on a freshly-booted PC with no other tasks running, so not a problem with PC resources.

It doesn't perhaps have any connection but it is usefu to underline that the new version of the EA asks for the indicator ZigZagme and not the traditional Zigzag, already present in all the MT4; to me has happened this way: some line of the fib was not seen and, in the journal, has found the message related to ZigZagme that could not be open; inserted the new indicator, the things they have gone to place!.

I hope can be useful somehow.

Sorry. I am conditioned to automatically ignore queries about mptm on the grounds because I hardly ever know the answer. I programmed most of mptm's functions in response to requests by other people. I have never used most of them, have forgotten what they do and have not a clue how to use them.

You can run as many instances of mtpm as you want. You can have each instance managing a single pair, all trades, or any number of shades in between. Recently, a coder added a feature that will be really useful here - the option to manage groups of pairs; the pairs in the group are an input just as they are in my multi-pair bots.

This is why I think mptm is a much more effective manager than anything I can code within EM, unless we are prepared to deal with a list of inputs longer than the code of the average EA. mptm is probably a bit daunting at first, but adding its code to this robot would merely transport the dauntingness from mptm to here.

Re the disappearing fibs thingy, I just had a thought. Load the bot, turn off Expert Advisors, change tf's then change back and turn ea's back on. This should force the robot to re-draw the fib.

You can indeed. The robot should not have been looking for ZigZagMe; I had done my usual trick of copy/pasting without changing a conditional in the paste.

Attached is a quick fix for the backtesters.
