When I first started, I could not put it down (the charts) but the potential that drives all of us will be replaced with a WTF moment the first account blown. (Yep, I blew a $1500 account back in 2006)

well even i have blown 3 accounts in last 2 years but i dont blame market it was me who was not aware of many things about the market and i am still learning new things every day but now i am much mature and aware about market conditions.

Oh wow, I remember my excitement for trading fx. Made so much more than trading equities. Then I remember my first blown acct. Good Times!

I treat forex as a business these day. No excitement of profits gained as I learned, could be gone tomorrow. It treated as a 9-5 working mans job. Though I do appreciate what fx has brought to me, I eagerly await retirement. Until then, I'll continue to slave away at long hours and lack of sleep.

Haha im enjoying your excitment but this is market,,, most of times you will observed that your new method is perfect also no doubt it remains perfect but just for some time,,, Market changes its behaviour time to time just to fail perfectness,,, Anyways goodluck

Saturdays are good for getting out the old simulator and trade away, 1 bar at a time, no need to wait for next bar, just click away... reminds me of my son's video game addiction!

Swingtrader my name is cody. I am also very addicted to the forex market. I spend most of my time in front of charts or learning something new. I dont buy into the hole thing of if your always around it you will blow out an account. I have been trading for 3 years and am very consistent. I totally get where your coming from. i think after as many hours as i have put into the market becoming consistent i would go crazy if i stopped obsessing over it. lol.

I haven't traded live and do not plan to do so until next year but I've blown countless demo accounts(which feel like real money especially when you're doing it the first time), mostly in my first months. Back then I was indeed just practically gambling: I "traded" the M1 charts - no analysis, no indicators/EA's, no stops, no nothing, really just addictive gambling - so I was in a euphoric high one second but before I knew it my account balance was zero. Now I've become more mature and disciplined, approaching trading in a professional way; soaking up as much knowledge and experience as I can and continuously creating/testing/looking for my personal trading system and of course, signing up with this forum

I feel the joy and the pain with you guys.

My Story....

Did all my education and research for the past 3 years before going live. Checked the forums and listened to all the stories about blown accounts and the importance of money management. I promised myself I would learn from other peoples mistakes.

Started with $500 real account Jan. 28, 2010. Traded manually and with a couple of EA's. Did very well (at least to me). Account grew to $1300 by May 1, 2010.

Then a very strange and deadly disease attacked my mind. It attacked the logic portion of my brain and caused my eyes to glaze over, I could no longer think logically no matter how hard I tried. I was in a death spiral, This started on May 3. 2010. By May 7, my account dropped to $39 with all the margin calls that occurred.

Interesting fact, it appears the disease left my body after the margin calls. The dollar shock must have brought me out of the death spiral.

All is not lost, I have become wiser and logic is working again. I have increased the $39 to $70 as of today trading micro lots.

It is amazing what you learn about yourself when the market humbles you and lets you know that it is the BOSS.

P.S - After analyzing my trades during the disease, it was my manual trading that caused the account to blow up.

Oh my!!!! how familiar does this sound, been there, got the addiction T shirt. Wife beat it out of me(verbally)

Blown accounts a number of times as the ambition rapidly overtakes both skill and capital.

I have found that the less I trade the better I get. If I look at the charts I have to be in the market so I leave the Trade Station off, I let myself look at it about 3 or 4 times a day, check for setups and enter with a fixed stop and profit target. Working well this year, started with $100 and micro lots in Feb 2010. Current balance now $1750 and trading mini lots. Even those get my heart going so I know I need to be careful now or overtrading and excitement will result that will end up in another blow up.

THIS FOREX JUICE IS ADDICTIVE AND CAN MAKE YOU VERY POOR

Be careful out there.......
Short Euro and remaining that way. That's just the way it is !
