That would be 25 pips = 1% of account. It sounds reasonable.

My concern is the trading style. It seems to me that he is trading from fear. Keeping everything within a few pips + or -

He did say that he is aware of the potential for a bigger loss cutting out several trades of profit so.... he seems to be aware of what he's doing.

Yes I would be concerned about this target of 2% per day. You look as though you're cutting trades short when it looks as though they might be reversing. Maybe need to try setting a trade with 1:2 or better and a realistic stop loss, but with only a 1% risk at stop loss. Then just let it run until it reaches an outcome. No big loss worries, then. Tell me to shut up and go away if you want...
