What is the difference between a shake-out and stopping volume?

When do we have to wait for confirmation after a VSA signal? For example after a test we have to wait for an up bar. In which other case do we have to wait for an other bar or many?

How all, just to share my lucky trade.

Scary day for any pair with at these times with ATR hitting very high.

Here was my entry after the trap-upmoved as indicated. Just after the break of the support trend line.

For those who found the GU's ND on 15mins may have been lucky enough to hit "some more"pips. Interestingly when Nick Clegg was speaking GU have a shakeout that punch up to over 180 pips. I closed out my trades minutes just before that. Perhaps market may be reading the possibility of a coalition with him & Tories as highly outcome.

Hi Lascavel,

Is it possible to avoid the trapping move up using VSA? In the case of GBPUSD we see a break of support on high volume and then the price is going back up above support with higher volume.

Just after the break of support, we have some king of upthrust, showing a down move continuation, but the next bar closing above support with higher volume makes us wonder if we should still be short.

theres possible stopping volume on /es thursday

ridiculous volume 1.5 million contracts

if you put up an hourly of the past 180 days, you can see that on thursday that volume spike of 1.5 M is twice the size of any other volume spikes. the other high volume hours were around .75-.8 Million

Hi all,

As we saw, there was a sudden incredible 600 pips effort to move down earlier today at UJ.

but it did not happen out of the blue at all by any means.

cause..

previous 2 hours volume bars showed high churn bars and tick volume showed selling swamping buying.thus selling pressure was getting storonger.

price was ranging around 93.75 which was over bought line of mm = distribution.

vix is 38 has been as high as 42 ,

I see some have not changed time frames they are trading off and using 1hour and 2 hrs charts

I am down to 15 , 5 and 2 min ,

here is a trade for 240 pip I took off a 5 min chart last night in london

This was JUST off a no demand bar on a 5 min , 15 pip dd ..... we already knew weakness is there in the back ground as markets was tanking .

to be honest tradeguider has been a god send last few days with the fats market action , the watch list has enabled me to keep track of vsa sets ups on es multi time frames and gu on 5 time frames , without taking the eyes off the 2 min chart

This is my trade from earlier today, as Tom Williams says, market does not like high vol. upbars, a few had been showing up, so went short after the up bar with high vol closing in the middle. SL of 30 pips and took profit manually at 50 pips on that last candle, after seeing a downbar on high vol closing in the middle. This is the USD/CHF. It's nice to have a profitable trade on my day off.

Thanks for the welcome back and well wishes peoplez. Most appreciated

I see my beloved VSA is still performing extremely well across all pairs. The setups are literally smacking me in the face every time I open a chart.

Still on demo dollars ATM, but have doubled my account almost every day I trade so far

with the market gone so insane it is hard to try and figure out what is going on in a daily chart.

If you are looking for longs at this point i would look for a low vol down day
If you are looking for sells look for a no demand up day

Hi V_2008

Just to add to malcolmb14's replied to you.

My data source (supposedly from Currenex) is showing a lower vol bar. But in your case is higher vol.

In any case both are of stopping volume type. Or in VSA terms is a bottom reversal after a downmove ( note the series of lower low bars prior to the reversal bar)

In your case it may look like hidden selling bar by itself as vol is very high. So probable next bar/s could be a tiny up bar with low vol (no demand), which will indicate further weakness.

For my case next probable bar/s we could see maybe no supply type of bar.

PS Broker is GOmarkets australia

Cheers!
