I am testing both the old and new and another variation of my own. All systems have been showing good results. One of them I have set up as a scalper off of the 4hr. So far so good, but i have only had them running on a demo for a week. Too early to tell if they all have marathon runner's legs.

Not sure if you know this but when you open a demo account in mt4 in the Mailbox tab on the bottom it also sends you a little email entitled "Registration" which has your demo account number and the Password. =) Hope this helps.

I just tinker around existing EAs and my knowledge of coding is almost nil and whatever I have done so far is purely out of necessity. So I will be happy if you do it yourself, but this latest idea looks good.

I'm currently in first level of recovery on aud/nzd and nzd/usd. Looked like things were turning around yesterday evening, but looks like we're going deeper. Drawdown is about 11% currently; about equal to gains of previous weeks. Shame to see them go away.

Yeah, twice now I have missed an opportunity to close out all my NZDUSD trades only to have it shoot back up to a new level.

I'm just confused as to what's driving it. Greek bailout, perhaps? Seems like you can justify any price movement with that these days.

It seems NZD related though, I don't know what's going on there, price of sheep moving up perhaps? The nzd is going up against all other currencies, that's what I'm seeing anyway, feel free to disagree.

Recent positive economic news has hightened expectations that NZ will raise rates by .25 this evening.

I was just using my limited knowledge of fundamentals.. greek bailout = stock market up = appetite for risk increase, or so i'm told.. But where will it end?

Hey everyone,

I modified the newest EA so instead of plugging in a stopgap in pips, you instead enter the ratio you want of stopgap to level size ("StopGapRatio") and it calculates automatically. For instance, if you enter 0.1 for StopGapRatio and the distance from one level to another is 779 pips, your stopgap will be 78 pips. This value will also be displayed with the others on the left side of the chart window.

This should hopefully make it easier to put it on different pairs because you won't have to change pip values if you don't want to.

Depends on your leverage. FYI I expect some profit taking to occur into the close and ahead of the number.

EDIT: Nevermind. I see RBA making announcement at 12:30 am EST. I think I'll hold till then. So Australia's raise in rates also drives the kiwi? I wonder what I should do with AUD/NZD..

sorry, my bad. I mixed up my Aussie and Kiwi flags.

However, moves right now are mainly based on Risk appetite. NZ just went through a relatively weak period. It has seen improved eco numbers that have surprised to the upside. NZ did their IR announcement last week. I believe it was a change in the wording about future expectations that boosted relative buying in NZD.

Similarly when Canada had its most recent rate decision, they kept things steady yet CAD took off. Why? They changed their wording about keeping rates steady until later this year, which raised expectations of a hike at the nextt meeting, which strengthened interest in CAD buying pretty much across the board.

In most cases under the current environment the action or inaction of central banks is of no surprise. It is the language and changes of the statment language that fuels speculative action.

Hi,

The EA opened up so many trades on aud/chf today and all closed for -1000 pips loss. How can this happen?

Can anyone help me with this, other currencies are working fine.

Hmm... Indeed, this is very interesting. Unfortunately I wasn't unable to replicate this behavior in my backtests, so this might be just lucky coincidence.

Also, I think I'm getting too much credit here "My EA" is the EA that you posted as "6x6" (made by IamTHAT) with auto-calculated Pips, TakeProfit, BuyLevel, SellLevel and nothing more, so everything you just said applies also to the original EA.

I see a lot of discussion here with the NZD. I am in the NZD,chf,jpy,usd and the AUD/NZD. If trading the 4H chart you are in level 2 or level 3 trades on all of these and sitting in good shape. If the AUD raises rates you will see a rush from NZD dollars to AUD dollars and they would all retrace later today. Anyway that is the plan. Dont like being 5,6,7 levels deep, hard lesson I learned a long time ago. If I have to take losses on all four of these it will be closing L1 and adding a L4. None of which would threaten my account. This is a good lesson here why I trade the 4H chart. I have the room when prices take off like this.

Well, from looking at the chart, on APR 30th the price on AUDCHF ran roughly 1528 Pips on a 5 digit server, then on from the 30th today it ran back to where it was on the 29th. So if you had been running the EA on AUDCHF on a H4 chart, you would have "Sold" at or around 1.00560 on the 29th, hit your TP, then entered another sell at about that same price on May 2nd.. that is "if" you were using A line, if you were trading B line then you would be having some problems.

Now, here's the problem you probably ran into. If you were using the EA posted by IAMTHAT, he has his default StopLoss set for 1000.. which, on a 5 digit broker would have been hit.. at which point the EA seeing the trade as still valid would enter again.. to hit your SL again.. creating the issue you see.

Thats why its VERY important to always demo test any EA for a few week so you know what to expect if when you go live with it. I HOPE this was not a live account you had this problem on.

Yes, this my demo account and i am running on ibfx 4 digit broker , intresting thing is all the trades were open that went down 1000 pips within 4 hours of time i think it was some kind of server problem that occured hopefully it will not happen on the live server. If you look at the trades all were open today after 12:00 pm and and ran down 1000 pips
