If your account has gone up 83% in one week, I imagine your settings will have your account down to $0 before long. Too much risk.

Later on Der Stratege did some improvements(alerts etc.) which I generally use. Bob knows about it all.
Many more things possible but hampered by programming capability. Say for example, if we switch EA off and switch it on later after the price has moved a lot, beyond the Pips distance, then we enter with the same multiplication,...
Ganesh it sounds like you want to remodel your master ea with a new trigger.

Updating thread, in 21 trading days since 4-5-10 I'm up 7557 pips with low dd which turns out to be 360 pips daily using your master ea. I've paid for ea's and been thru countless free ea's and this is the best I've ever seen.

I dont get it... used the original 60x90 from the first post, just deleted one pair and i use 3 levels for less margin. max margin has been very low.

just check the detailed report, average profit per trade has been quite low, and averega loss amazingly low (0.75%) and maximal drawdown 276.20 (3.45%).. all that seems very low risk, the only thing is that i started with a very low capital and risked on being margined out if i wouldve used many levels, i could even just take the loss and not mess with the margin.

I am i really missing some huge point where im doing something really wrong? what is the suggested capital for using to 60x90 3 levels?

This is the best month I have ever had trading but I must remind you guys that the market is moving perfectly for these EAs. Lots of bouncing up and down, remember December we couldnt get a retrace and now we are living in a perfect world. So enjoy it, the market will not always do this. Just a caution note, but I will take every pip I can get.

Only AUD/NZD still open; trying to get to break even before FOMC and RBNZ action. Today is a great day to DEMO TEST how the EA works with heavy turbulence.

Just to let you know I try to keep my ratios low so I can handle surprises without damaging my account. I trade nickels at 800 dollars this month and my return on one live account (4H system) has been 25%, one of my best months ever. I have used this EA for 2 weeks at .05 and one week at .01 and my return has been 10.3%. These numbers would keep your account with less than 5% on average DD and 20% when I was running my worst case DD (that figure is not from this EA). To hit 83% or triple of what I have done would mean in a worst case DD you would be endangering your account. Now if you have extra money to put in the account you can trade like that but if you dont then it is dangerous. I now have a rule that if my margin goes bigger than 20% of my account on a DD I will add more funds to that account and keep my ratios intact. (For example if my DD is more than 160 dollars on 800 20%, I will add money to the account) That way I can run my 2.4.2 recovery system without being hampered by not having enough funds. So those are my rules guys in case you need to know. Those rules come from a lot of bad experiences but those numbers seem to fit if you trade at a 100:1 leverage. I hope this helps some of you with your trading.

I just helped out a guy who had a very large account and was over 10% DD on just a few trades. I used about 20% sized lots than he used and I got him back to BE after a couple of days. So keep your account intact and trade wisely. Again nothing wrong with 83% return if you have the extra funds to put in the account quickly if it gets into trouble. But if you dont have a buffer, then you will get into trouble at some point. I have 3 accounts with IBFX. I trade 2 live and one has reserve money just in case. IBFX will transfer from one account to another in a matter of minutes if I need it. So that is how I trade and how I protect myself.

Your updates are very so assuring, thanks you for your confidence. Somehow I have not been able to replicate you results probably due to my focus on too many things at a time. Also I am waiting for your regular updates to so that what do I need to have ultimately.
I have added stop order feature to the latest Sixth EA as per jay's request and I have started testing this also since yesterday. This also looks very good. No harm having many good things at a time.

If anyone is able to, and has the time, I would be willing to pay for them to create versions of the EAs that work with ECN/STP brokers. My coder can do it but can not get to it for a while because of a new job and move to a new country.

Here's a screen shot. I turned the ma feature off, it opens all pending trades at .01 (dimes) for me which means my 762 profit is really 7620 pips. Can't wait to see how Bob's sixth ea finally ends up. Great thread and great job guys....Dan

The problem is 10 days is a blink of an eye in this market and definitely isn't representative of price behavior over the long-term. My feeling is, if you're using a lot size large enough to generate that type of return, you will get killed when the market starts to trend. It's like having ultra-powerful sports car that you can only set to go one speed. It would be suicidal to set it to full-throttle. Sure, you're fine tearing down the straightaways now but what happens when there's a bend in the road?

Question: Have you experienced a situation as of yet where the price has reached where the fourth level would be?

Maybe someone can code that but if you use one set of EAs to enter trades and Steve Hopwoods MPTM to manage them I believe that would work. I dont have that problem because I dont use an ECN but you could demo those two and see what happens.

I know i've been filling this thread with crackpot ideas lately. Sorry if i'm cluttering.

I had an idea for a possible future application for this type of system. Check out the indicator in Toothman's post from a week or so ago: http://www.forexfactory.com/showpost...postcount=3241.

How about a system that opens basket trades of a certain currency in levels (like the EA's here) as they diverge from the center line--sort of like counter-trend relative strength trading. As an example, take a look at AUD on April 12. If you bought a basket of AUD/NZD, AUD/USD, and AUD/CAD that day you would have made a nice profit.

I'd have no idea how to set take profit and such, but it was just a thought I had.

im only using 0.01 lots as the original EA is, but never reached 4th level..this must be a lucky streak?
ill let you know when i get to 4th or 5th level and see if i have blown my account, lol. would be easier to just exit at 4th if margin grows too much?

every trade closes with a small profit but recently i got lot of positions opened and closed daily. btw im grown to 100% with 11 days, how can this be? my margin is always below 20% usually 5 to 10%... from the initial capital. small profits just keep coming really fast, this looks unreal

Thanks for sharing this. I'm a little perplexed though. I started at the same time that you did. I'm trading 21 pairs on IBFX. Like you, I'm not interferring with the EA. Just letting it run the default settings of trading the A level 24/7. I've got a much larger lot size but my results are complete different otherwise. I've only had 28 trades. 20 wins and 8 losses. How is it you have 240 trades?

Definitely a lucky streak. I advise checking out the 2.4.2 recovery system for these EA's for when it does go beyond 3 (or however many) levels. Even with that system in place, the gains you're experiencing are likely unsustainable, a result of a very friendly market, trading too many currencies at one time, or a little of both.

I'm often an idiot, though. So I might be wrong.

Heh, I had planned on waiting till the end of the week to explain what I'm doing different, but I might as well explain it now.

First, I'll explain WHY I'm trading the way I am:

During the many visual backtests I was running on multiple currency pairs I quickly came to realise that the beauty of this system is its simplicity. It finds the "Range" of the Highest High and the Lowest Low over a set number of bars, and then attemps to counter trade in that range. That may not sound like an amazing revelation, however its that simplicity that makes the following possible.

First, I realised that it doesn't HAVE to be traded on the 4hr TF.
Second, I realised that its automatically setting an appropriate TP and Entry depending on the "Range"
Third, you can "hone" that range by reducing the BarCount so that the ranges are smaller are more attuned to what the current market is doing.

So, I set to testing lower timeframes and lower barcounts, as I prefer a more "active and aggrssive" trading strategy. After another large amount of backtesting, and running a bunch of optimizations, I found some settings that work on the M30 with so far surprising accuracy and results.

So the results your seeing are all for the M30 Timeframe with an 80 BarCount.

So where you might be looking at a trading range of ~600 on the 4hr timeframe, I'm looking at a trading range of ~150 on the M30. So in effect I'm geting a larger quantity of smaller moves.

Hey this is one of the things I love most about the V3.2 that you can vary the bar count. I have tried going the other way, ie increasing the bar count with the more volatile pairs, you don't get so many trades but the chances of going to the 3rd level are greatly reduced,

Does anyone have an indicator that gives you the account draw down stats ?
Every day I get home from work my account has jumped up but I never really know how deep the hole was and therefore I don't know if I'm ever getting thin on margin.

Opened Monday morning UK time, 32 closed trades (a handful manually) $376 to the good, .02 lot size, greatest observed DD $230 $2000 Demo, 18.8 % increase. 24 pairs... I'll gradually reduce this or increase the bar count on the more troublesome pairs. I'm running them all on 130 bar count at the mo. Only the GBP/NZD has gone 3 deep so far.
