thank you , about the time out time and pips, is it working together when use trailing too...

oh that set file, i use for euro/us between 50-70 gap trap... i think every currency has different number of gap to trap price action.

Yeah, being "lucky" is not good enough. We have to try and find a way to minimize the risk.

I don't like the way the equity line (green) lags below the blue. Plus it doesn't show everything and the account balance can drop a lot lower than that. I think the only time it draws the line is once the order has closed. So, it could conceivably drop all the way down and crash!

i notice, it look like it working together because TP is always different result.....

the last version is awesome, just to be carefull to remember to setup without power lot when do real...

now the way it work will about 50% won and 50% loss, but because TP is bigger than SL, the equity will gradually up....

did you check it the setup yet? i put TP about 10-140, with SL=25... it is awesome profit management

No, I think the Power Lots is okay, you just have to be careful how you use it.

Really? I'm doing well over 90%, I think? My only main concern, as I have already said, are the major upswings and downswings. But, I am getting closer and closer with the implementing of the hedge. Have attached a copy of latest test below ...

And of course I'd still like to implement the indicator, which is really what I wanted to do all along. But, I decided it would probably be better to focus on the overall functionality instead. Now that I have, I don't think I'll regret it.

I also need to see if I can setup a way to hedge between two separate IBFX accounts. I think I already have what I need, so it might be pretty easy, although I won't actually know until I try. Anyway, I expect I'll be pretty busy for awhile.

Do you mean the .set file you sent me? No, I haven't. Like I said, I kind of have my hands full right now. Maybe after I get the hedge fully implemented in the next couple of days (hopefully).

Do you mean the way you set it up or, the way it's setup in general? ... all I can say is wait until you see the hedge!

In the version below I've added a hedge in two instances, plus added two or three other things. In the previous version I only had one hedge. The version you are looking at is level 1. I have this and level 2 working now. While I have at least one more level I would to like to add but, most of the work is done now, I think ...

thank you for you hard work and a lot of idea, well, i don't know if indicator still need in this ea.... the feature you make already great

the way i setup is using trailing and time out from very higher from 140=TP=70x2.
use trailing and time out from 80, 60, 40, 20 and 10...

you can check it at the setup file... mostly i try small SL that why it is almost 50% won and 50% loss... but equity will go up because TP is bigger than SL...

i have one situation like this... i use SL=1000( it is about same no SL)

first open position sell, and price action go up.....
and always do averaging position, it goes forward from minus to break even or more... because the second or third position always won when it close.... BUT the first open position is still open=meaning it will always open sell....

is there any way when after averaging it won and the equity go to break even( first money to start) it will close all opening and star over again....

in this case, account balance is higher but equity is down under break even because to many open position ( atleast 1 to 3 opening, make more lot to hold floating open)

this case happened because first open position is too low and the trend is still go up.... it maybe better there is way to close the first open position... because sometimes there is no way it will be back to that that price first open position...

ok this is the result, i think the right amount initial account start up can fix that problem first opening when buy at high and sell at low when the price action go different direction...

the result is still won.... there is a lot of combination setup that will make this ea a winner with small SL and big SL....

when do bigger SL it will make about 90% won... it is really great the ea even without indicator... you're the best ec

even without hedge it already good ea, with start up equity and resonable lot to trade...

the hedge will prevent less risky.... well, you're really smart still have a lot of idea to work on this SB i can't believe it....

i believe you will not regret to build this ea, it will really profitable and will survive any market condition

Yes, this is what the Equity_Target is supposed to do. If you set it too high though, it won't work.

I'm thinking of a way of averaging it though, so when the equity really builds up (after several orders have closed), and it's that close to the target, I will either extend the target or cancel it, and/or automatically extend the TP value. Because if it's that close and you close out early, you're missing out on a lot of bucks. It's probably worth the risk to extend it another 10 to 15 points in other words.

It's just another idea anyway.

Oh, if you would really like to close early, then set Equity_Target to 0.01 or something like that (instead of 1.25). That way it averages everything out so if there's more than one order open, it will close out at or about the break even point. I set it the way it is so you're always making a profit (1.25 x specified) whenever you do a Close-All at once. If you do it this other way, you're only making a profit so long as you don't open more than one order. But, it may actually work better this way (or, at least reduce the drawdown), I don't know?

Of course I just realized I will have to modify the code a bit. The way it is now, you have to specify an Equity_Target of at least 1.0 or higher, otherwise it will close out early on the first order. If it's set to 1.0 that means it will close when it reaches the take profit. If you set it higher, then it should close out higher than that. However, it won't because the take profit is set lower, and it closes out when it reaches the take profit. In other words whichever one comes first. So, that's what that's all about.

If I do this other averaging thing, I could probably incorporate this with that. Or, if it's that important, I can do it sooner I suppose ... although it's not as easy as it sounds. I will need to think about it a bit. Basically I will need to determine if any "secondary" orders have opened after the first. If not, I could say, "Equity_Target = 1.0" or, just cancel it out. It still requires a way of determining this though, and that's what I haven't quite figured out.

Okay, I finally got around to looking at it. I set it (Time Out option) up on a 4 digit IBFX mini account, while backtesting, and it appears to be working okay. Is this what you're talking about ... or, is it something else?

If you're still experiencing problems, perhaps you can describe it in more detail, or possibly send me a set file, so I can try and duplicate the results.

i don't know why it don't work, but no use ibfx anymore because always say test generator : umatched data error..maybe because the internet connection...

it worked at other broker when do back test.... the mb, fxcm.

the setup file i sent you already...

oh, a few times i use SL=1000, it can said no SL setup... many times after averaging the fourth times(4), it hit foresale...

usually when try use euro/jpy, gpy/jpy...

it must be carefull to use big SL... using small equity.

it's ok it still work the other broker, if it work for you it means it is ok for ibfx...

what do you think to setup like this, to reduce the risk...

open 2 account, trading at same currency with the same setup...
one with only buy and the other with only sell with big SL ?

do you think that will reduce the risk? when it got wrong it at least like break even, if both have a lot of overlapping candle, both account will won i think...

Hey, I just figured out a way to hedge with IBFX. As I already said, I have two accounts so, all I need to do is open up sell only trades in one account and buy only trades in the other. Of course I already knew I could do this, this is why I opened up the second account. I just forgot, because I've been so busy trying to get the EA together. Plus, I really wasn't quite ready.

But, since this latest update, which bases the Equity_Target upon the individual earnings for each pair, instead of the overall Account Equity, which was really not a good idea (when opening more than one chart), I am now better prepared to do what I want to do. In fact, I just opened seven individual pairs on each account (same pairs) with lot sizes set at 0.02 (on mini account). Last time I had six or seven pairs open on each account,beginning with 0.1 lot size, and they weren't all the same pairs. So I wasn't hedging like I am now, and I was risking almost five times as much money. So, it will be interesting to see how it works out.

Oh, will probably send you guys an update in the next day or two.

Well, technically you are hedging and, so long as one side doesn't go crazy, you should be able to make money either way. Like I said, I already set this up (about two hours ago), and none of the pairs were doing any serious trending so, I figured maybe this would be the best place to start ... or, maybe not?

Anyway, the only real drawback to hedging like this, is you are not hedging on the same account, so you have to be a lot more careful about margin calls. The hedging won't help you in this regard.

Here I set the Maximum Trades to three, so if one side goes nuts, the other side should be able to keep up or, at least offset a good portion of it.

Well, so far it's been about three hours since I opened the trades, and thus far I'm about breaking even. However, I had two successful trades at $.53 each. And guess what? One was a EURJPY Buy, and the other a EURJPY Sell ... which only goes to show you can make money either way and, at the same time.
