Anyone know of a software where I can customize and set a short alert (preferably that turns off by itself) to go off 30 seconds before the close of each candle on a 5 minute chart?

Up until now, I've been using nakedalarmclock.com, where I have to turn the alarm off each time it goes off and then set the alarm again 5 minutes forward. I don't need an alarm, just a very short alert lasting 1 or 2 seconds, clear enough to catch my attention. And again, that I don't need to manually reset every 5 minutes. Anyone? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

EDIT:

I just realized I have this b-clock candle countdown timer in my indicator folder. Could someone please modify it so that I get a sound alert when 30 seconds are left?

Every 5 min?? Really? Wow.

You could try this one, it is external to mt4. You could set it to xx:04 and itll alert you 1 min before the candle closes, then set the snooze to 5 min and hit that to reset it.

This is the programming section and the help I asked was for a tool, not to be patronized by someone who's opinionated like the rest of the know-it-all herd about other people's choice of time frame, as if I'm walking through mud while you're floating on a cloud. That's your uneducated assumption and you just couldn't resist letting me know about it.

As for your contribution, thanks I guess, but I don't see how it improves anything and I doubt you understand or paid attention to what I really was looking for, namely something that alerts me for a quick 2-3 second glance at my charts every 5 minutes and then back (without the push of any buttons) to my other non-profit tasks. Yes, I'm a multitasker, not suffering from ADD.

I'm not the best diplomat and my honesty sometimes get me in trouble, but since I found your tone arrogant, not to mention annoying, I didn't really want to reply to you, because I don't like to waste my precious time on Earth with people I get uncomfortable around. However, you did contribute with something and I want others to know that if they contribute, I will reply and show my gratitude, so I had to write you back. Markets are closed, so haven't tested it. Note the inputs that allows you to select your sound and the number of repeats. Search the Metatrader folder for wav files to see the sound options.

You sure said a lot for not wanting to say much. It was meant to help out another moron that cant figure out how to use google. If you cant handle some good natured joking maybe you should go join your mom in the kitchen, unless the heat is too much for you in there too.

 Obviously I didn't say enough, as none of it sunk into your head -- like when I said not to reply to me again. Works like a charm during high volatility, but fails when price is not moving. If there is no movement when 30 seconds are left, the alert won't sound. I'm trying to remember where, but some time ago I saw somewhere a modification of this indicator, where the clock would update every second, independently of price movement. I'll see if I can find it. Thanks again for your help and sorry about the other nonsense.

You can try setting the alarm to ">=" instead of "==" ....

That way if it overshoots, which is what it sounds like you're saying, it will still sound off at the next tick update.

I'm not a programmer and don't understand code, but I am able to use the editor and change values. I circled in the picture where I saw "==" and changed it to ">=" and the alert went crazy, going off almost every second. Am I not supposed to change something where the seconds are, instead of minutes?

Now, I'm still concerned about waiting for the candle to move before the alert sounds, cause I would like to have 30 seconds to prepare if I see a possible setup, and sometimes even during periods of high volatility, price could still freeze for 10 seconds. However, if I could make it work the way you said, I would still be happy if there are no other options. Thanks for your help.

You can try this. Currently it's setup for a 10 second delay and 1000 iterations. Just set it to whatever values you want and change text to what you want it to display on alert. Also, where it says "abc==0," change this to parameters used for sounding the alarm.

Not sure how the Alarm Wave is going to solve the problem.......you still need ticks to pitch up on your platform for it to work.

There are probably ways to loop this within a tick on a continual basis but they tend to become resource hogs. You do not have to use this on the currency pair you are trading......place it on the most volatile currency you can find and if you really concerned, place it on 2 charts. If 2 currency pairs don't have a tick between them in 30 seconds, it is probably not a great time to trade anyway.

Wait, I think I might have misunderstood. Are you saying that to fix the overshoot, a loop would have to be added, which would take up resources? In other words, the modification you did is good as it is? Just place it on volatile pairs and the alert should never be skipped? Or did I misunderstand again?

EDIT:

Until I get an answer, I'll give it a try and see if any alerts are skipped.

How about this? It should (haven't tested it yet) run independently of your EA and update automatically every 100 milliseconds. You will have to attach it to a separate chart though, and need to create a global variable ("alarm_set") to call it up from the EA.

Also, as noted in the parenthesis above, I haven't tested it yet, but I don't see why it shouldn't work.

The basic idea for the refresh comes from this thread. All I did was substitute the previous code ("PM_Script") with the Alarm_Wave code.

Yes, I am fairly certain the Alarm Wave will handle the overshoot here.

Yes, I think that's what he's saying. This is what the Auto_Refresh_Alarm should do, create a continuous loop within itself, which is why it has to be placed on a chart by itself. Otherwise it takes up all the resources and the EA won't work.

Again, thank you both for your help. I found a website that does the job, which is one of a kind. I'm sorry if I wasted your time, but I did try (obviously not hard enough) to find something on the internet without any luck. The keyword that finally worked was "interval timer," which led me to this website. I also found a one-of-a-kind freeware called GymBossier, but it doesn't allow intervals higher than 100 seconds. Perhaps that can be changed by editing the .exe-file, which I don't know how to do. Anyway, here's the website if anyone should be interested (doesn't work so well in Firefox though):

But could you set the alert to go off at 8.00, 8.15, 8.30, 8.45, 9.00, 9.15pm... for example.

Basically every 15 mins, but following the time.

Don't know if this is helpful to you. It's a standalone EXE file that runs independently of MT4, hence it uses your computer's clock to obtain the time, rather than MT4's candle start times. It plays any WAV file that you nominate, X minutes (or seconds) before any given time interval (e.g. every 15 mins). So (for example) you could have it alert you 30 seconds before every 15 minute interval (8.00, 8.15, 8.30, 8.45, 9.00, 9.15pm...), giving you 30 seconds to check your chart immediately before each new M15 candle begins to form.
