Hello!
I don't understand one thing about this great EA. Why does it keep closing my position at the same target profit? Today my second target (+20 pips) was hit, so 0.1 was closed accordingly to my settings, then price went down arround +17 pips and when it came back to +20 another 0.1 lot size was closed, even though my next profit target was +30 pips. So in all, two 0.1 lot sizes were closed at that point in stead of one. I understood from previous posts that it acts like this when it disconects, but i did not even touch the EA and my internet was working properly. In fact it was a matter of seconds and i don't see how something external could disconnect the EA. I don't know why it diconnects like this or why it acts like this. Did yo guys have the same bothering problem? Is there any way we can avoid it?

Stockwet, This is really helpful, i have not run it yet, but the logic is so similar to what I was just about to write in the upcoming weeks. This will save a ton of time.

Are you still using this version of the TP?

I am looking for something that can keep SL at a certain pips from the current price. And it's triggered at a certain level of profit.

For example.

Buy order at 1.5000

i want to trigger at 20 profit.

so at 1.5020 it triggers the ea to maintain SL (initially, no stop loss is set) at 5 pips different.

when the price reach 1.5020 SL is set @ 1.5015, then the price move to 1.5025 so SL is re set at 1.5020, then if the price keeps moving to 1.5030 the SL is re set again to 1.5025.

This is what i've been looking. if anyone has something like this please share it to me.

thank you

Hi Stockwet,

I am using your 2-3 EA. In the directions you mention setting the stop differential to 0 in order for the EA to stop out at even money. The issue is that i do not see a stop differential extern in the EA settings.

Any helps is appreciated.

hey Carumba, I believe i am seeking a similar EA. It looks like this EA from the current post could have the potential to do what we are looking for it to do.

If this is not easily done with this particular EA I may be able to add two additional stop settings.

Hello, I took Stockwet's awesome EA and removed the static stop loss settings and set the stop losses up just like he had the take profits. Where you set an initial First_stop_target, stop_target_increment, First_Stop and sl_increment. When First_stop_target is triggered a stop loss gets set to the initial First_Stop value you enter. From here, each time profit rises the stop_target_increment the stop loss is incremented by sl_increment.

Enjoy, hope it helps.

it does not work on me .... this is my setting.

first target 10
target increment 20(i dont care about target since my profit comes from moving my SL to higher level than my opening price)
close_lots 0 (no partial closing)
move stops
true
first stop target 10 (when this hits SL is set , initially no SL)
stop target increment 6 (so when 10 pips hit, set SL to 6)
first stop 10 (no idea what it is so i just set it to 10)
SL_increment 6 (when the price is +16 then SL is set to 12 which is 6+ previous SL)
USE MAX LOSS false
MAX LOSS 20 (does not matter)
Magic number 0

Yes, I had exactly the same thing happen, just today. I am using the modified 1.7 with TP of 70, 0, 0 and increment of 500. SL of 70/1, 0/0, 0/0, TSL 150, Max Loss 250. I thought the instructsions said the zeros would be ignored so after the first TP of 70, I should have a TSL of 150, right? But, it closed 2 positions of 0.01 and now I have no open positions. Maybe I need to set my next TP at 1000 or something, but I still wonder about the SL1, 2, & 3. Hopefully, someone is following this who can explain. tx.

Yeah, too bad this EA has this serious problem! Clearly, it was not an accident, it keeps closing position at same target if prices go back for a while. It does it no matter what settings I try. Since this MTP is not reliable and DOES NOT WORK properly, can anyone suggest any other similar EA that would not have this problem?

Hey Eric, can u copy and paste your extern variables? I would like to see what you have. the original takeprofit2.4 works great for me. I was attempting to add new feature to stockwet's 2.4.

Check it out... a bit more detail on the settings.

extern int First_Target = 10;
extern int Target_Increment = 0;
extern double Close_Lots = 0;
extern bool Move_Stops = true;
extern int First_Stop_Target = 10;(when 10 pips profit is hit a SL is set at First_Stop value set below)
extern int Stop_target_Increment = 6;(After the First_Stop_Target is hit, this Stop_target_Increment value will increment the First_Stop_Target... when 10 pips is hit then the 6 gets added to it so 16 is now the next stop loss target... when 16 pips profit is hit, then the next stop loss gets set.)
extern int First_Stop = 6;(This is the first stop_loss that gets set after the FIrst_Stop_Target gets triggered)
extern int SL_Increment = 6;(Increments the stop loss after the stop loss target triggers each time.)

extern bool Use_Max_Loss = true;
extern int Max_Loss = 200;
extern int Magic_Number=0;

As I said, I'm using the modified 1.7 because I wanted to use the trailing stop. I have not tried 2.4 yet. Here's my settings:

PreSet_Name=Default
First_TP=70
Second_TP=0
Third_TP=0
TP_Increment=500
Close_Lots=0.01000000
Close_Method=1
First_Stop_Target=70
First_Stop=1
Second_Stop_Target=0
Second_Stop=0
Third_Stop_Target=0
Third_Stop=0
Trail_Stop_By=150
Max_Loss=250
Alert_Sound=0
Alert_Email=0
Magic_Number=0

and No, I haven't found that relative strength indicator but stopped looking.
