I've downloaded 6th Screen.zip.But failed to load it into chart.

I dragged"4H 6th EA ver 3" into the chart,ticked all boxes in "common" section.
Input values for variables,saved,clicked "OK" and "load".The problem is: No SMILEY but an "x" sign appeared...

Could someone help me,explain the right steps to load the EA?

Did you download the EA to your experts folder? Is the Expert Advisor box clicked green at the top of your platform?

The Expert Adviser sign had been removed when I loaded the EA and I didn't
aware that it should be ON.

One question:
Are the value of "Starts hour" and "stop hour" for each trade market set as default in GMT? Should be changed?

The default setting for Use Trading Hours is false and we've been leaving it false.

This Sixth EA is a remarkable new development. So far, drawdown has been fairly low and profits have been steady. Of course, we've only been running this for less than two weeks.

I noticed that sometimes the Sixth lines don't repaint even after clicking the refresh button. After I added a Murray Math Lines indicator and then removed, the lines repainted.

One thing you have to do is make sure that you enter the correct buy and sell prices, being careful not to transpose numbers. A neat little addition would be to display current buy, sell, pip and tp levels from the EA on the screen so you can check your work and/or determine if the settings need to be adjusted.

The way I refresh especially on weekends when price is off or I am visually backtesting and want to see the lines in another period of time, like two months ago. Do the following:
1. Hit Control I, this brings up the indicator screen.
2. Hit the close button, this will immediately refresh the screen and put the lines where they belong.

The reason we never got an EA to do this automatically for us was this issue of getting the lines to stay put every time you changed TF, moved the screen or went to see other pairs. We lock the numbers in manually so the indicator may change buy your input prices do not. This is how I do it. I then hit F7 to input my numbers.

I wish I had time to do a couple of upgrades but I do not. Two things I would like if someone has the time to do them.

1. The sixths indicator--I would like the numbers and script to be changed to larger letter and numbers. If someone could do that, so when pictures are posted they can be read at FF.

2. The EA posts the numbers you have entered on the Right side of the screen. This is so you can check to see how accurate they are with the lines at all times. Right now I have to hit F7 and bring up the numbers to see if they are inputted correctly or the numbers have not changed much from price movement. This will make for a faster read.

It is nice to know that price has to run off the screen to get into trouble with this system and then you are only going to level 3. That will happen in every currency at some point during the year. Hopefully we will know the news story that will do that in advance and be prepared.

One thing you will want to watch is the number of pips from top to bottom. As price consolidates during slow trading times that number will get smaller. For example gbp/jpy will often run around the 900-1100 range. If you see that number around 6-700 you know you run the risk of it going higher or lower than the screen because it is usually more volatile than that. So that is one area to watch. With time I hope to form an opinion of regular range, high range and low range for each currency pair. Probably one week of screen staring will do it. Problem is I wont get that chance until summer time.

How did you like the CAD move today. They didnt event change their interest rate but kept it the same. Imagine what the market would do if they had changed the rate. This is what interest rate changes can do and why we watch them. I can tell you guys already in advance if the USA every changes them for the first time, in what 2 years, what you saw in the CAD will be multiplied many times over and will affect every single currency pair. So be on the watch, that time should happen sometime this year but dont know when. It will be OCt. 2008 all over again.

As some of you know I like taking a knock at Fundamental traders occasionally even though having some understanding of Fundamentals is needed to trade. Anyway, the CAD does not change Interest rates but the dollar drops 170 pips in a couple of hours. Love those Fundamental non stories that move the market.

Because of the big move by the CAD tonight I change all CAD numbers to the B line and increased my TP and reentry numbers. Gotta give that baby some room. Made some good profits today on the CAD though. Here is a pic of the CAD and entering the red line. looking for a bounce at some point here. Another way of handling his is to have no EA on and putting a pending order at the bottom where you can see previous support from the previous week. Play the double bottom.

I'm trying to figure out why the EA isn't taking a trade right now on EURGPB. As far as I can tell it "should" be making a buy trade, however the EA is doing nothing.

I've double checked my settings, everything is set up correctly, the EA is running, so not sure why its not trading. I'm gonna wait it out and see what happens as the move does seem to be continuing down so it could be the EA logic is waiting for an upturn?

I dont think so. My EA has take this trade and wait the revers for take profit.

In lot of case, when a bug appears with a so simple EA as this, it is not the EA but mt4. Restart mt4 or better install a fresh one with latest update.

Who's your broker? If it's an ECN broker like FXCM, it will not allow you to place a trade with the TP and SL. You have to enter the trade and then apply the TP and SL.

I use IBFX and I'm running this in demo mode until I'm more confident in the system. I have never had any issue with any of the EA's I have ran in the past, which is why I find this odd. Could it be that since I am running multiple copies on different pairs its not registering the trade?

Regardless, I guess I'll try reinstalling the platform in a seperate directory and loading just the EA and the Indicator. I have a "lot" of other indi's/ea's running so it may be some compatibility issue with one of those.

EDIT: Yeah, installing fresh to a new directory seemed to solve the problem. As soon as I loaded the EA and turned it one it instantly took the trade.

EDIT:...

  1. If you are only running one EA per currency pair you should have no problems. If you are running different EAs or more than one kind of EA, they need to have different magic numbers. If you are running the same EA on different currencies it does not matter, the magic number can be the same.

  1. The EA was designed using IBFX so you should be having the least amount of problems. When you entered your numbers make sure you do not enter any numbers ending in 0. If the number is 86.00 you should enter 86.01 or 85.99.

  1. If you are running lots of indicators and programs make sure you have enough RAM to run it all. I have a dual core computer with 4G of ram and that seems to work well but if I am running 6-8 demo accounts testing stuff I can get bogged down.

If we turn off the EA or shut computer down,no trade would be executed, right?When we turn it on later,how would EA "re enter" the trades which were "missed"?At what price, or just "no action"?

You have to have your computer on with EA on for trades to take place. If you turn things on later, price would have to be past or go past your buy or sell number again to initiate a trade.

In filling EA properties,do we give ticks to all items of the "common" page?
I don't really understand the following:
"Ask manual confirmation"
"Allow DLL imports"
"Confirm DLL function calls"

Do we tick all them?Some reasons...Please.
