E/U hourly trades tonite:

tried a long, but had a reversal signal. traded it (the short) patiently as planned off the 15 minute on a pullback for confirmation. presently in the black, but sideways. going for the original target on the gap fill.

presently up approx. 50 pips ... SL moved to b/e & fingers crossed.

yay!! reached my target. net 4% on that trade and net 2.8% for the week.

eyeing another pullback possibility on the hourly.

nothing exciting on the daily charts, except for maybe another crack at the U/J. this pair has been a real pain for me, but we'll see.

short again from the pullback. shooting for 3500 which is only 21 pips from yesterday's low. so far so good, but only time will tell. i am fighting the urge to close this out now, but doing that will only help me in the short run.

as for the daily's, have only one w/ the U/J which i again entered off a really no-brainer pullback on the hourly.

net 2.3% ... jumped out at yesterday's low instead of waiting for the market to push the price to 3500. really stalled out prior to that and corrected on me and the orders started to pile up so i made a decision to end the week on super positive note.

5 trades this week (none on monday). stuck to my plan THE WHOLE WEEK!! net for the week is 5%!!

turning all my charts off (my U/J is running and doing well) so that i am not tempted to 1) overtrade or 2) kick myself for jumping out early if the market shoots down to 3500.

the bears ran the price to 92.00 ... i woke up & decided to take my 80 pips & call it good at 19% net profit on the dailys since april 8th. will be plenty of set-ups next week.

Been following this thread for about a year now direct to my email, even during a massive self imposed lull in my trading (about 4 months). Like the down to earth approach.

Anyway, well done on the week - hope you have a great weekend !

PS: you have a great Neil Young line on your sig now - I'm sure you had an equally great line from Led Zep before, no ? I've got to say, I'm a bigger Neil fan than even the mighty LZ.

thank you for your post. i am definitely hanging it all out there. i think it has helped my trading because anytime i feel like "editing" or "airbrushing" i stop & think, why am i doing this? for me? for the 2 people that read my thread? so, i go for brutal honesty and it forces me to focus and re-focus and re-group.

Neil Young ... he's in my top 10. i love music for the lyrics, then melody. im changing my signature as a tribute to you.

as for you following me for a year ... that's kooky!! my thread is a complete train wreck. (maybe i should publish an e-book LOL) p.s. why the hiatus?

up to my usual tricks. did not trade the signal. sat around "hoping" it would pullback to a better price (and got a bit sidetracked w/ my gap trades that were going in the opposite direction of my E/U signal) ...

entry at 3473 (minus spread and slippage) ... market has dipped to 3450. oh well.

i have never known a gap not to be "filled" technically, but the last few of these i've done have required that i do so w/o a SL (a true BWILC style trade -- i am confident the market will eventuallly move in my direction) ... unfortunately, i could have made over 100-150 pips on the way down before on the way up again.

anyway, woke to find my G/J filled the gap and netted me 1.5%. GU is in the black and on the way up. im debating closing since a correction is now expected & im only off by about 20 pips.

wrong. target is 50 pips away. in fact, there appears to be a daily pullback setting up on that one & i might just use my good fortune & ride this back to 5500.

off to a poor start.

1st trade was a TL break where i used my 15min pullback to confirm. perfect. no. i did everything correctly except wait for my 2 pip break.

that was a loss when i reversed off the hourly in a pullback. im in the red & that's fine. a signal is a signal & that's all i can do at this point.

watching for yet another reversal on another TL break. we'll see.

surprisingly, im happy to be pulling the trigger despite the first loss & possible 2nd. im nearly over my disappointment of failing to do so last nite.

blew it. failed to read my chart clearly. so instead of a b/e & a trade i'd have in the black at 20 pips, i have the expected loss at -1% and no trade the other way.

prolly not gonna find anything else tonite on the E/U unless there's a signal in the next 30 minutes or so.

found 6 swing trades off the daily charts earlier today:

 

  1. U/CAD ... order triggered
  2. A/U & N/U ... both orders triggered
  3. G/U ... took 1/2 off on my gap trade; adjusted my SL to match the daily chart, & moved my TP to 5500
  4. U/CHF ... hasn't triggered
  5. G/J ... tried to get fancy w/ this & enter off the hourly chart, but unfortunately i was distracted w/ other things & forgot to check on it & missed the entry (would be 75 pips in the black at this point -- oh well)

CRAP! on the phone & missed the entry on a signal i was watching to line up at 4pm. sooooo irritating. need to set alarms if i get on the phone. CRAP!
