I did the coin toss test on 3/1/2010 and attached the results. I "bet the farm", so to speak, on the last trade and won - it was late and I needed some sleep. I would never trade like that with real money, but the account was doubled in 15 coin tosses. I have used the simulator every day for about two months and it has greatly improved my trading skills. I strongly suggest you give it try.

Thanks for the illuminating comments stratman. I'll try not to go off on too much of a tangent but I think that trading does offer some unique challenges psychologically. The issue with things like the angle of MAs, or many other rules that we try to apply to our trading is that while we may have the feeling that they improve our odds, it's really difficult to know if they actually do.

Without testing each "rule" in isolation over hundreds of trades we cannot draw any conclusive evidence from a statistical perspective. It's also possible that many rules only give an edge when used in combination with others. On that point, it's entirely possible for one trader to be working by what they believe to be the same set of rules as another, and have one profitable and one not. There may be subtle differences to their approach which is where the edge can be found. It's that sort of idea that on occasion makes me feel like the quest to profitability is somewhat futile.

However, your current teaching approach is great! I like how you've started from the very basics and are progressing through the various elements of your trading to piece it all together. I've watched just about all the videos except for the most recent on fractals and the simulator which I'm going to do now.

One request I have (if you haven't planned it already) is perhaps a couple of lessons focusing specifically on exits. I don't know what your stats are at the moment, but I remember you saying in the past that your overall hit rate was close to 50% but you end up making double on the winners versus the losers. In the lessons I've watched I know you've talked about using SR levels as potential exit targets, but there are more reasons you will choose to exit a trade, and it might be useful to hear what goes through your head for these as I think this is where I big part of one's edge can be found.

I guess this is why Bill Williams coined this term 'Trading Chaos' ie suggesting that markets are very chaotic and 'random' in nature ... yet we see support and resistance and trends.

I personally think that the 'edge' (or Holy Grail) is all about Money Management ie keeping losers small and winners larger than losers. Phsychology is definitely a factor here. We find it difficult to quit a losing trade while it is a small loss ... so increase there stop-loss and average-in hoping praying that price will resume our trade direction .

This post showing the simulator clearly shows how I get the edge. I lost 5 out of 7 trades but increased my equity by 1% . This how I trade. It may not suit everyone but this works for me.

Not to nitpick, but I don't think you can quite call that money management. It's more trade management. Money management would be more about the percentage of risk you take on each trade. Knowing when to exit a trade, on the other hand, is part of your trading strategy. The exit is just as important, if not moreso, than the exit (which you said earlier).

I have yet to watch the simulator video, but I will now. That said, I do think everyone would benefit with a little more focus on how and when trades should be exited for a loss or a gain. As you said - this is where the 'edge' probably lies.

I see that simulator does not include spread when showing actual pip gains. That can be misleading.
Only after looking at terminal we can see the right pips gained or lost.

I have a little problem.

I wanted to edit the "pipware-thv-trix-v4.30.ex4". I made the blue and red curve lines thicker. I saved that in a template.

After reloading MT4 a little later the "new thickness" was gone. Even reloading the formerly saved template did not help.

Is the edited "pipware-thv-trix-v4.30.ex4" not saved with the template or the profile?

I hope that this can be saved cause otherwise I would be forced to reedit 12 windows every day.

Had an incredible good morning using the DB on EU and EJ this morning.
Nettet 200 Pips in Total.

I have attached an image of the EU trade (the EJ trade is almost identical).
