Dont know, I am not a 1H trader. I only use a 1H Chart to make decisions on taking profit. If market is flat or ranging, which it does 70% of the time, it would work just fine. It is when it is moving strongly I find the 1H hard to trade. I work 10-12 hour days so I cant trade it. 1H chart trading is good for day trading. It tells you what is happening during a day. A 15M chart is good for a session. 4H chart is good for reading a week of action and a 1D chart is good for reading a month of action. I am not home enough to watch my charts to use a 1H chart so I have never gotten good at it. A 4H chart fits my lifestyle and trading habits. So just off the top of my head and taking my best guess I would only trade the A lines on a 1H chart and look at a 4H chart to determine which way I want to trade on a 1H chart.

I did have trouble with the program when I first started it. It crashed several times but now it is working. If you dont have much RAM on your computer (I use 4 ) this program could bog down. Dont use the multi color screens but use a basic screen and see how it goes. This trading program can use a lot of computer so give it time to get all the info in. The indicator is making 8 math calculations for every currency, drawing lines and recalculates every time you move the TF or screen. Put 20 currencies on the board like I do with EAs etc. it can get complicated. It is why we so far have never gotten an EA to do all this at once and had to separate it into an indicator and then input to the EA. The constant change and flux was too much. Maybe a quad core computer with 20G of ram could handle it but not 4G. So how much processing power do you have??

See post 3223. Yes I knew you guys would come up with EA adjustments for that. I also know you guys will come up with an EA that will do that so, that is why I post online and not keep my secrets to myself. I can only do so much and need the rest of you guys to fine tune it. I appreciate all of you for helping me make what I am beginning to think may end up being one of the best EAs ever designed. Gee we can give it all the cool names like: it has heuristics and artificial intelligence, etc. etc. and we only have a limited copies for the next 3 days. So buy now before they are all gone. LOL

Then the next month we can change the name and offer 100 more copies and sell it all over again. It is new and improved and people are maiking boatloads of money. It is not for 2999 but for today only the next 100 folks can get it for 99 bucks yes yes .................... alright I know shut up Bob.

I am a paranoid trader and when I see profit I grab it. I seldom wait for it to hit the TP line. The only time I hit the TP line is when I am sleeping. I really like taking TP at a S/R line. If price bounces back up, a frequent happening, I get to enter again. If you are a A line trader learn to use the MPTM. It will work great with 1 level trades and at least you get some profit before it goes back up again. However, reread the discussion on it a page earlier.

Like last night there was some nice profit in my 4H trading system so I decided, "LET YOUR PROFITS RUN" and like usual I lost about 40% of it. Trading Sucks sometimes.

The trade will enter anytime above or below the buy or sell number. The line is just for determining where you want that number to be. So if you know there is a big news story and you want to play the rebound. You keep the EA off until it exhausts itself and then turn it on and actually enter higher.

So far, so good--5 total trades on 6 pairs (NZD/USD and EUR/USD hit TP, 3 still open on USD/CHF, CHF/JPY, AUD/NZD) in 24 hours. I'm trading the EA in aggressive mode--that is, taking trades on the "B line". A puzzling thing, though: I Set up the majority of the other slow currencies on an FXCM demo about a half an hour ago, and despite there seemingly being a trade possibility, there's no activity whatsoever.

And to whomever complained about their mt4 locking up, I have experienced some hanging with the indicator. It seems to take either a while or no time at all to paint the lines.

Posting a screen shot of what I mean by not taking a trade. I'd question my inputs, but as you can see from the arrow on the line, it had taken out a trade before. Come to think of it, I actually killed that trade early (didn't actually hit TP) because it was deep in profit. Maybe that screwed something up?

Here is how you stay out of trouble. This is the USD CAD trade that went 2nd level. I closed out here at +1 profit. It will now reenter and I am back to a first level trade. I found out this to be good practice in case a currency goes on a run in the wrong direction. Now I am sitting on a solid trade instead of worrying of getting a backlash. I often try to 0 out two level trades to stay out of trouble. Pic below.

Here is a pic where I missed my profit target. Moving your SL up to ensure a profit or taking a profit manually is a good strategy. You can see where support set up just above my TP line. So make sure you get something every time. Once price goes inside that B line protect whatever profit you have and go for a ride or just take the profit. What you dont want is to have a profit and then lose it like what happened here.

You can probably handle more than one pair. Just depends on what else you are doing. So add over time and see what happens. I have trouble when MT4 updates.

No it shouldnt have screwed it up. Who is your broker? I use IBFX but every broker has their own way of handling EAs. Dont have enough info to know.

The lines won't paint until the next tic on that chart. If you want to update the lines right away when scrolling or after you first bring a chart up, right click on the chart, hit indicator list and then close.

I compared a couple of currencies trading 1H versus 4H. Obviously you would get more trades. In a ranging market or slow trend market you would do fine. You would have to be prepared to use more levels if price went on a run though. So more trades versus deeper into the long runs when they happen. Decision would be up to what kind of trader you are. You would have to pay more attention to news reports. I mean it looked great even on a 5 minute chart. For example quiet times and when the news stories are over you could go scalp the 5M chart. Never tried it but I am sure some of you would be game to try. So lets say you are near the A lines on the 4H chart you could do sell or buy onlies off of the 5M chart depending on which direction you think the market is going. check it out. It could be fun. Here is two days on a 5M chart. Plug the numbers in and see what happens.

Hello Jay,
FXCM is an ECN broker which means you cannot enter your TP and SL at the same time the EA enters the trade. You have to set the TP and SL at 0. Then, after the trade has been entered, you can set the TP and SL.

WE need to find settings for the MPTM so ECN guys can trade also. So if the EA enters a trade the MPTM will monitor it afterwards. So any suggestinons may help. Or maybe we can put a TP line in the code. So if price hits this line it TP and it is not part of the origianl trade. Just a thought.

Just a thought, not sure if it works I haven't gotten around to testing the new system yet...

Perhaps you can drop the indicator on the chart, take the values you need and then remove the indicator again? If I understand Bob's posts correctly there is no direct feed from the indicator to the ea, you feed the indicator values manually into the ea. I think this means you can take the indicator off to free up resources once you've read the values.

Regarding my previous issue with trades not being executed, I simply made a new chart window and reconfigured the EA and it started taking trades again. Like when you reboot a computer and your issue suddenly goes away.

To programmers and those (like me) who prefer buffers/stops:

I'm going to make it my life's goal over the next few days to try to code stops instead of instant orders into this EA--but that really means nothing since I'm so terrible at it. My idea is to try to change iamTHAT's MASTER2.0 ea so that it makes trades off of the center line in the indicator rather than a moving average. This sounds relatively simple but I know I'm going to have a bear of a time with it.

If there are any programmers out there who want to assist me with this, please let me know here or via pm as you help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you could do that. If you see some price movement or price stagnates on one end of the chart you will need to recheck your values every couple of days. I have had ot adjust some of the prices yesterday. The GBP and Aud are high on the charts so I added some new pairs to trade with. If price goes well above the red line I will test out the Gbp/jpy and aud/jpy. So far I am 32-4 all of my 4 losses had winning level 2 trades. In other words the level 2 trade was more or equal to the level 1 trade. At present my winnings are 2x my DD.
