I believe they are related to CitiBank. Same as DBFX to Deutsche Bank. These guys have much more influential PR departments (over IT). They can't afford to be cought with their hands in the cookie jar.

Yeah thats what I was wondering LOL. Oanda has not given me too many problems as of late so im fine right now.

IT is very powerful tool, in the hands of the know, much is possible, even major breaches. Who guards that it is not abused?

My platform is very intellligent.
She knows when I take a trade or not......i am sleeping on platform or not......much things. and of course she is linked to broker server. There, much info is processed and tabulated. My log says all things i do. Wonder what else is known? When she acts hostile to my interest regularly, my god given comp aka brain feels it.

however your point is taken. I pray to God that he audits their actions regularly.No one else seem doing it, as far as I am aware.

to lighten the mood, today I saw a forex ad in facebook.com

went to the site (turned out to be easy-forex.com) and saw their banner.. it shows how you can use leverage for profit and is supposedly designed to attract new customers.

funny part is that it's honest. look at the picture attached. pay attention to "your investment" and "your profit/loss".

fti, there has been some talk about order flow in FF (again). Care to shed more light ? Quoting another guy, he says knowing order flow is not an edge. Is it ? How does it play into your MO ?

I agree with Sauron , mouse tracking would be far fetched ...
oanda has a server problem , once there are too many executions at any given time (fast market condition) then they simply lag off customers ... either intentional or not , we are at a disadvantage ...
logically they can increase server capacity and bandwidth capacity to address the problem ...

I tried check, but seems citi treasury is greatly reinventing herself. The internal structure has changed alot. Not sure if citi pro is part of citi's treasury. Could be under TMU (treasury marketing unit). She could also be just subsidiary activity or SATU (strategic arbi) or she could be CS (customers services). We wait for her to finalise her position in the hierarchy chart. For now i have little info.

DBFX, not seem to be Deutsche's treasury ops though. More like FXCM business.

It's been over 5 years now since I opened my first forex trading account. At that time, I opened it with the understanding that i am insignificant to the forex market and to my broker. I guess my view of my broker is based on low expectations, where I know I can't trade during times of exteme moves, and that spreads will widen when the broker decides it needs to do so. I am pretty sure FXCM is tracking mouse moves and knows when my mouse is hovering over the close button. For me, that is all ok, because I have build these factors in to my trading strategy. It is a part of being a retail trader.

hummm, mahes, hope thats the case. BUT i expect the highest levels of professionalism from them. We are not in cookies business, and these "problems" affecting trade book dynamics not withstanding flaring tempers. The regularity of occurrences and the way it disadvantages book give me bad after taste. I guess the optimistic perspective would be not to jump to conclusions. Of course we may be better comforted if the watch dog bodies, are diligently at bay. Of course still teething problems ?

Oanda probably does it on the pipettes. Thing is, there are many price references, so it will be easy to get caught. Even if it is only pipettes, look at the daily volume Oanda does, its good money man.

thats not impossible , but highly improbable , anyone savvy enough wld know it if they are sending back datas other than your orders ...

By default some spying possibilies of the applets are switched off, for security reasons. Because the applet of Oanda must communicate with their server you have to accept them as signed by Oanda, otherwise they couldn't communicate.
From that moment on they in theory can act like any windows applications but they are nevertheless limited in what they can achieve. I'm not a Java expert but I don't think you can make a keylogger applet.
Also, anybody could see what their applet sends to the server. The data could be encrypted but from its volume one can decide if there's more information than normal.
Therefore, I don't think Oanda spys, it would be a risk which they wouldn't assume. They know anyway when you log in, when you trade, where's your stop, tp, how you trail etc. Every broker actually knows it and could use it for its advantage.
