a perfect set-up in M15 chart: UpThrust bar showing weakness in the background, NoDemand followed to confirm weakness, and a downbar with increased volume followed to confirm NoDemand bar.

I think, an Upthrust bar in M15 is probably composed of 3 bars in M5 chart with shake-out, buying climax or stopping volume set-tup. Therefore, a NoDemand bar in M5 chart could be used to confirm the weakness, an UpThrust bar in M15 chart.

I'd like to confirm my thought with experienced VSAers. Thanks.

We would like to see a down bar after an UT so as to 'confirm' it. The M5 ND is only 1/3 of the next M15 bar, so the next M15 bar could contain a M5 ND and still be an up bar. This cenario would not be ideal.

I think for that reason, we should not do this.

An interesting question tho.

yes for sure but remember you want to see some form of selling in the background , not just one 15 min bar

As i noticed from my own 1000hours chart-time) Very often if after 15m UT
you see 5m ND bar DO NOT ENTER wait more bars to confirm. It seems to me that sometimes big money starting to sell into buying(forming UT) that just doing a little break couple of min to see if there any buyers left. Again very often a little reaction(due to profit taking occurs) after UT on 5m. So if after 5m ND next 5m bar is going higher on increasing volume that mean on 15m it will be medium spread and vol bar and then price can make higher spikes or even disregard the UT (ie. if daily trend is up ) and go further up.
I use zoom out tactic that mean if on 5 or 10m i see something I zoom out and if i dont like how it's look on bigger picture i wait for confirm on 15-30-1h TF

Thank you very much. It makes me clear that in order to avoid counter the trend, ie. daily trend is up, we should be cautious to use M5 ND to confirm M15 UT. Thanks again.

at the moment this is just a hunch

I find it odd GU up and up and up and then day before NFP we stopped dead on top of channel .

I need to see confirmation next week that channel top will hold.

As I trade intraday it does not reall matter to me which way this goes to be honest , but i find it really odd 5 days up move no retrace

I am new to VSA, and trading as a whole. I read, study and try to understand. As I've gone through this thread, I've seen a lot of posts questioning the validity of VSA or the character of other posters here. Most of these people seem to think they should be given the knowledge of how to make money, just because they deserve it.

For all who are dissatisfied with their current status as a trader, I have a question. When you went to University, did you expect to know everything about your chosen field...

VSA is no magic bullet, it requires dedication, patience, and practice. In the end, the results are only as good as our ability to apply the principles.

Some posts I wish could be on the front end of the forum for new traders to read when they start... this is one of those.

Here is a look at the Yen futures contracts... found this very interesting for planning trades..

Notice how the different zones overlap each other and how the price is rejected inside of the various zones, which then become support for the next zone down.

the second chart is just a look at it from a long term perspective...

It seems that you are a testing expert on trading stragegy. Would you please tell me your testing method? I am interested in a combo strategy of VSA, ATR and Marekt Profile. But I don't know how is its effectiveness and how to play with it.

In addition, looking at yesterday's daily chart, GU closed on a down bar with relatively lower volume. The other thing is today most traders and banks are off on holiday.

hi Chief,

I am sorry, i feel myself so bit directionless, acc. to the chart, and heavy buying at previous dip, do we have increase in the long term after double bottom ?

in the meantime, the chart seems better than I use for futures, please could you also tell me which one it is..

Yeah it's just like the same way I look at support and resistance. The strength or impact of the bounce will determine how price will react the next time it gets to that area.
