Pound could spike above 1.52 level now to attract more longs and then just turn around.

My GY short getting whacked -1.8% of the account at this point. Added antoher short at 141.50 s/l undecided at this point but no more than 4%.

i do. but until a confirmation shows up, it's just a hope.

Patience required. The bearish divergences across the Yen pairs will play out at some stage. I'm seeing a retracement to at least 140 on GY and maybe as low as 138.x

The problem with PA like this, and chasing it, is we have trouble seeing where the top will be, but be assured, it will stop.

Just curious why you think it will go back there. It went there on the BS news regarding the Moody Greece down grade and spiked back up - just wondering what your thought process is regarding heading back south?

Not saying that you are wrong because it very well may retrace back there again but the next level of resistance does lie at 143.37 on a daily if we close above 142.95. . . And it looks to be the markets agenda at this point. . .

I gave up figuring out where the retraces would be. I buy some lots, when they have a good profit sell them. And immediately buy again, rinse repeat.

I see but it appears the upmove is not yet complete and is ticking up as I write - above 142 and we will see the next resistance level for sure which the market looks to be aiming for. . .

But anything can happen north or south especially in the NY sessions during month end/Q1 end. . . I guess only time will tell. . .

Closed all longs, I think we might see a corrective wave here. I will stay aside or scalp a few shorts after confirmation.

I read earlier this week that Japan 10 year bond interest rate was rising (price falling) and bond holders were selling these bonds and hedging with the Japan pair crosses before the Tankan report. If true, a fall should be soon.

Yeah, the Tankan #'s due in ~8hrs are being talked about as positive. But, I'd say there are more powerful forces buying yen crosses (mostly UJ) & I'd be surprised of any retrace approaching 100 pips, unless there is significantly visible selling of GJ specifically; remember than when GJ's not being influenced by a falling UJ, it's latching onto GU's implied upmove, and bulls are getting a failsafe rocket ride.

I think that short is safe - looks like the 15 min chart may give PA a bit of a relief before moving further up. . .

brief update before nfp.

first, i wanted to mention that we are trading on the bullish side of monthly candle: monthly pvp = 137.66, vwap = 136.37. safest bets are buying dips from intra-week/intra-day trends.

now let's go to intra-week configuration, see m30 chart. again, we are on the bullish side of the weekly candle - weekly pvp = 138.57, vwap = 139.80. i would look for possible longs @ 139.80 area, IF it goes there.
weekly volume histogram suggests there is more room to upside; however, support is about to move up from 138.57 to 140.80 area - but we need a dip to that area to confirm this.

going lower to intra-day configuration, m5 chart. same thing - bullish side of the daily candle, with daily pvp = 140.79 and vwap = 141.02.
daily histogram says there is no significant resistance above, so another move up is possible.
according to daily profile, first support is 141.60 area; if 141.60 is taken, then 141/140.80 might be tested before another rally.

that's it. keep your stops tight for tomorrow and don't get sucked in. supports may be tested, and by that i mean 139.80/138.60/137.70. last support for me before i reconsider bullish bias is 136.35 area.
as for upside, i do not have a target... as we are going counter trend. once supports are broken, main trend should resume.

If 142.10 is broken, it will try for 143.50, that's what it is looking right now.

Can't really say, you would have thought the news today would have taken 100 pips off of it easy but it has a mind of its own right now.

Just off hand I would say Jpy news bad gy goes up a little more, Jpy news good maybe goes down a little.

Its in a super tight range right now of just a few pips so whatever happens will be interesting.

One of my brokers has an insiders view where it tells how many of their customers are on what side of the trade. 75% are short GY, the 25% that are long have an average stoploss of 95.00.
