That's probably best - my short was a wash, then I bought as the fast ema held - I closed for a few pips and now have another short looking for a pull back into LO.

GM - 2 LHs into FO gave an easy sell for ~30 pips, the low, breaking under the earlier support, was in a 5min high vol hammer, suggesting hidden buying. Although earlier than expected, I did buy the bounce as the fall halted after a 1 min marubozo and I quickly banked a few more pips. A good start to the day, now for LO......

Month's end today and that usually means buying EurGbp by the UK to pay the EU stuff, so positive for € and -ve for cable.....

I scalped LO with a long and after the tweezers, later sold the LH that held at the slow ema.....so far the DP at 5055 has held in a low vol 5m doji.....

Good eyes Islander, on those 2 LH's. And quick hands on the exit. Never heard of a marubozo, but Google has just enlightened me.

Thanks - a tip is to pick up on the longer candle/s and see what follows...I've even got an indy that pops up an alarm, although those just before that drop were too small to trigger it....

LOL - great that you researched the Marubozo - spoon feeding's off here! - its a quicker way of saying a longer solid candle....http://cdn.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

A 50 pip bounce in 11 mins with the high another marubozo which turned into tweezers.....I banked....the next mini bounce was held again at the the important 5111 resistance....IF this level breaks hang onto your hats!.....I have another long.....TWT

So far 5111 has held with plenty of long upside wicks on the 5 min....doji, spinning top, doji, shooting star, all with reasonable vols......closed long for a small loss, now short and waiting to see if the fast ma rolls over.....I'd be surprised if the 5111 resistance can break without another pull back first......

Hi Islander

When you get a minute can you post a chart highlighting areas you enetred and exited. More so the candles you mention that led to enetring a position or exiting.

Thanks - I'll try, but I have to go out soon, so if not before, I'll post one when I return in a couple of hours....

€s just made a NH at its DP / 3450 level.....will that hold it.....TWT....

Islander might do this for you but to be honest you'll probably find it more beneficial to go through your charts and figure it out yourself. All the terms are included (marubozu, tweezers, etc) and the various pivots and numbers are too so you shouldn't need a chart other than your own.

Not trying to be rude or anything but you will gain a lot more by doing a Google search for the candle formations and applying it to your own charts rather than looking at a picture with entries and exits marked.

Morning all
Islander your earlier sell, I had a lh ej sell at same time. EJ looked better to me at the time, it was a BE at end of day.

Back to GU then. After 15 min had 2 shooting stars we sold again out at BE (well I lie we were then +2 so only need another 24 trades like this).

After the 2 shooting stars a nice 15 min doji gave a buy off 5 min hl reject of 5056 todays pivot.

So far we cannot make Y's high, so with COT last week more heavily weighted to big boys short gu I still think we're heading lower sometime soon. TWT ........ it always does.

To an extent I agree, but Islander has such a unique view on trading that some views of his charts are beneficial.

Of course you do need to merge his methods with what your own head says.

Seeing his charts repeats and enforces this training.

15 min chart, the 2 shooting stars we sold. The D pivot became a clear line in the sand when 2 such nice candles couldn't get it lower.

Oh yeah, I get what you're saying. This day in particular though it was pretty straight-forward and the person in question mainly seemed like they didn't know what tweezers or marobozus were. Too often people just want a picture instead of doing a bit of research and I think it hurts in the long run.

That said, yes, Islander's take on the market is a lot easier to follow with a chart here and there so I'm not trying to put a stop to that.

And the other issue particularly off 1 min charts, most platforms don't go back that far so in a few months it'll be impossible for most to go back and see what he's talking about.

Exact same thing for me. Kept thinking it was going to break and break hard but I really wanted to see a bit more retracement first so I held off. Just how it goes sometimes but it's still a shame to see those ones pull away without you.

morning all,
I had an order in at 51055 but for some reason it never fired. Twice. I think it might be to do with max deviation setting (on FXPRo that is) , which is currently set to 2, and I think might need to be 20. Anybody got a view on that tick box? Also lost connection on FXPro at 10:12:25 and still not back on. Alpari still running OK though..

Hi Royston needs to be 20 on fxpro, ie 2 full pips on 4 digit broker.

My fxpro fine all morning.
