Oops, that was another test I was running. Now I don't recall which one it was? They still wound up with about the same profit though, except the other had a profit factor of almost 12, and this one had a profit factor of 3.71. I think the other one had a lower drawdown as well ...

hi ec,

i did option 4 (switcher) with default and SL=100, it work pretty good...

that would be a better result when do more aggresive setup....

all of your ea after with trailing stop, that would be working for all of the version and will give a good result with optimize depends with how aggresive the setting especially when do power lot....

Well, I just tested it with the Take Profit value doubler on (versus it being off) when using the trailing stop, and there's about a 50% improvement when I leave it on. So I think I'll just leave it the way it is. Or, I can always add the option to disable (or enable) it. It's no big deal.

yes, ec, this one is not a big deal anyway....

after a few months, you did it ec
combine with the trailing and power lot that make a powerfull version.... maybe the indicator will give more chance to win and less risky... who knows??
but
even option 4 is good enough already for real... what do you think?

i now believe that 1.4 and II will work with trailing... you're really awesome ec...

Is that with the trailing stop or, with out it? I tried it without it and it wasn't doing too good but, when I tried it with it, it's actually doing pretty good. ... well, it looks like it's crapping out towards the end of the test though. I also noticed the stop loss value doubled to 200, and that's not supposed to happen either. Did you notice that too? You should probably set it to 50 (for now) if that's going to happen.

Oh, it looks like it recovered most of what it lost at the end of the test.

Okay, that was easy enough to fix. I just added the SL option with the TP option to the doubler without realizing it. All I had to do was delete the variable. That was probably the easiest fix so far.

Oh, when I set the SL to 50 (100) it died, pretty bad ... or, I lost about 20% of the account.

If we get it setup right, yeah, I think the indicator will work great.

Definitely. In fact I expect to get something going here real quick on a scaled down version, using five or six pairs with smaller lots.

Oh, you don't have to set the stop loss in order to use the trailing stop by the way. Did you know that?

i notice it and mention before about double SL and double TP....
you said you did it on purpose.... i've got missunderstand about it, you said double TP, i think it is both of them...

it's great you fix it with no problem with optional, if not i think it is ok...

yes i know about choice SL and Trailing, but for me to feel safety, i will combine SL with trailing stop...

yes, the best setup i think use SL=100(200) because forex is overlapping candle in each day, and most of the average moving pips in one day is around 200 pips, when the position loss, it will floating and do averaging... but better than it hit SL many times in small stop loss...

maybe using the right indicator will get smaller SL and to reduce opening only with the best opening can open at the right direction...

i count it the best maximun trade is around 5 or 6 for about 200 pips moving average in one week... if too much that is too risky.... only in some cases got around 4-5 opening, usually i notice only until 3-4 opening before it closes one by one...

Well, I was only thinking double TP, because that's all I intended to do. I didn't realize I had done the same thing to the SL.

What, are you saying it's better for the SL to double up? Because I just changed it. Did you get the email I just sent? (with the fix).

Actually, since you have to set the SL anyway, that is, if you want to use it, you may as well just set it to 200 and leave it the way it is, I guess? ...

Personally I don't intend to use a stop loss. So long as it "switches" reasonably well, say, within 100 points (I know that's a lot), I don't think I'll have a problem. The only time there will be a problem is when the market takes a major upswing or downswing, by say, at least 500 points but, I would have caught the change a long time before that.

Perhaps. It may not be necessary once I get the indicator working. Oh, I also intend to add at least two timeouts, one that resets the "seek gap" after so many minutes, and another that closes the order after you've reached a certain profit level after so many minutes ... say, after 15 pips. Of course I will also make it adjustable so you can set it to whatever value you want.

it is hard for me to check it close because it hit trailing or close early...
i assume it hit trailing....

it worked fine with the trailing, at least the opening is winning with simultaneuosly by 7 pips... this one amazing ec... almost all opening is winning...

the problem is : with SL=100, one losses wipe it out the gain and, power lot is not working... there is no averaging... with 1.1 A.

when is the power lot work ec? i use true already.

Hey, if you guys are out there, don't run multiple versions of this at once. I have the Equity Target based upon the overall Account Equity, which is okay if you are only running one version. But, if you are running more than one, you have more than input affecting the equity, in which case it could potentially screw everything up. I believe this may have been what happened to me, either that I have a rogue (Profit Monitor) script running in the background. And here, I had five or six pairs open at the same time when, all of a sudden (two or three hours later?), all the trades closed out all at once. This has happened six or seven times already, and each time I've lost money. It's no fun.

I was thinking it was probably a rogue script (which is why I reinstalled MT4), but now I realize it could be this too. While I realized it was a potential problem before, but completely forgot. Sorry.

If you want to defeat it, set Max_Trades to "1." It sounds like you (tulipevierge) don't want to have more than one trade open at a time anyway, so ...

But, at least this way, if you still want to run multiple versions, you can still do so.

This is the whole point behind opening multiple trades so, you are effectively playing "catch up." But, it does work. It won't work very well, however if, like I say, if you are using more than one version.

And yes, the Power Lots should be working, except you won't notice unless you are using a larger lot size, say at least ".05." You will really notice when it's set to at least "1."

Okay, I think I figured out the problem here. I continued to update the EA (and compiled it) which was modifying all the open versions at the same time. It didn't appear to affect anything, except I had to go back and reset Option_0_4 on all open versions, so I wasn't too worried about it.

But now I realize it was resetting the variable the Equity Target uses to determine when to do a "Close_All." Which, was based on the AccountEquity() balance from the previous Close_All. So, if it gets reset and the AccountEquity() balance is lower, as it almost always was, then the target gets reset. So, guess what? If all open versions are modified this way, and the AccountEquity() balance is lower, they will all do a Close_All at the exact same point (the lower target setting), and I wind up taking a loss. That's exactly what was happening! Wow!

So, I guess I can't do that anymore.

Although I think I can setup an option to modify this variable manually (by recompiling EA or setting it in properties box) so it doesn't have to be a big issue. I also just realized it may actually may be good to have it based upon the AccountEquity() balance, so long as you are only running multiple versions of this EA. That way it will work similar to the Profit Monitor EA (more or less) without having to use it. We'll see. I will probably provide the option so you can set it up either way.

i really like power lot, with 1.1A it look like power lot is not working, is it working for you ec?

power lot= do averaging when it floating lose and open other position, right?

when i do back test, always only single entry... 0.1 lot and then hit SL.

with power lot give more chance to win even more bigger risk too...

Yes, the Power Lots (on 1.1A) works when I do the backtesting, so long as I set it to "true." Also you want to try a lot size of about "1" (with about $3,000 in account). Plus it won't work if you aren't making any money, and it doesn't happen all at once.

The formula I use takes the initial lot size and divides it by the AccountEquity(), for example 1.0 lots / $3,000 = 0.000333. I then take that number and multiply it by the AccountEquity whever it increases ... i.e., $3,050 x 0.000333, which gives you a lot size of 1.02. So, say by the time you are up to $10,000, the lot size is now $10,000 x 0.000333, which is 3.33.

But again, like I said, if you don't use a larger lot size, you will hardly notice it.
