Binary Forex Trading Journal

Who uses fx binaries to hedge spot trade positions (or vice versa)? I'd be very interested to hear how you do that.

Also, Ferndog, have you experienced any negative issues with Nadex? Platform glitches? Problems withdrawing money from your account, etc?

I just had a minor problem when i started at Nadex with their platform. I placed a trade that didn't get filled & since i wasn't used to their platform instead of cancelling that order i tried placing another order & that created different orders at different prices that i didn't want. But ever since then everything has been ok.

Another option... (pun intended ) is www.umoo.com. It's a gaming site based on actual markets. I've been doing this game called up/down which is basically binary options. pretty fun. Latest entries in my journal goes into it a bit more.

Here is the thing, I think Binary Options are a wonderful alternative to trading for it simplifies and minimizes your losses. However, and this is the big however, it is all about finding a Broker that does not bet against you. I am just a rookie but there are so many conflicting reviews and commentaties on the topic of binaries and brokers...those of you who have found a broker whose charting is helpful and who are not betting against the trader should let us know. If you can, please let us know which broker in the binaries acts like an ECN or non dealing desk at least and also one whose charting is not useless as most appear to be. I personally love the idea of Binaries simply because I just want to make money...and so far I have found it is the easiest way to cut losses to a minimum yet not thrilled with most which have been mentioned in other threads... I will certainly appreciate your assistance on this!

Very true. Luckily today, I have good news. I took a trade that was about 180 pips in the money and it is now locked in. I'm still 120 pips in the money right now and it's making me another 6% on my account. I was hoping someone can clarify this for me . . . . I thought with FOREX Binary options, all you have to do is have your trade close one pip in the direction you call. I am seeing that you are talking about trades being "180 pips in the money" and being "locked in." I thought it just has to be either in the money or not in the money? Does it matter how much it is in the money?

Just need clarification on this.

Above 1,3480 i would say, meanwhile i covered with a long monthly one touch 1,3450.

And i have sold some option 1,2850 and 1,2950

I am still new to binary so i am trying out a few things.

I bought a few days ago a monthly one touch eurusd option 1,3450, it has been closed this morning...for no reasons.

And it looks like it has been replace by another one where i sold it...wtf ??

I trade the daily binaries and I have never had any problems with IG Markets.

Hey guys interesting read.
I have started a demo with IG and have been demo for a few weeks. I have trades spot FX almost 3 years. I started the demo with the intention of trading the bull spreads marketed by IG. I found the relationship between the expiration of the contract and its value is to high unless some sort of major news in in the works. My opinion is the spreads are good maybe even great for news but are an account drain in low volatility markets and low volatility sessions.

I told myself I would stay away from binaries they seemed to much like gambling to me. My opinion has changed. The ability to trade in and out of a contract is what makes this work for me. Most of my spot trades last a few hrs to a day or so. I can base my binary trades on the same market info and TA as I use for spot. I can make a buck or jump ship when I want based on what PA is doing just as I do in spot FX. I like the way risk is managed with this kind of trading and I like that Big Brother is not holding my hand like he is now with my spot FX account and the new US regs. In all honestly the new regs have not made me change the way I trade that much, but I resent rules in general

I am going live early 2011. I am going to continue to trade spot. after 3 years I got that worked out and shouldn't fix something thats not broke. I have read so many bad reviews about IG I am skeptical about the broker but will hold judgement back until I make a few trades do a deposit and withdraw. I will let you all know how it goes.

If anyone knows how to setup a workable Short Iron Condor with bull spreads and can describe how the value of the contracts will relate to the FX spot market (when the orders trigger and figuring breakeven prices)I am all ears. IG has a video. Every time I try the market never seems to move far enough past break even to justify the cost. I am not sure if I am setting it up wrong or if the time value is killing me or if video is showing a trade that is to good to be true.
