Hi All,
I am posting this in the interest of my continuing self-education. This is an example of what not to do as the market unfolds and shows you what you should have done. Clear signals that I ignored as I made an attemped to hit the high top off of NFP.
I am still in these positions and will try t0 average out.

HLass...I would appreciate your critique on playing the BB's while in a Range Market into this NFP setup if you have the time.

Good trades to all in the upcoming week.

Hi,

Ok, I have created a word document with a bunch of links for learning bollinger bands, follow them in order, yes in order, and it will take some time, but its spelled out a b c and then bottom link is Boris Schlossberg and tons and tons of vids, but start at the top please, im saying this from experience, and over the next two weeks, I will answer all questions, but I want to wait and see what are most common questions so I can do a post with all the answers rather than be answering questions all day long as my time is limited these days as it seems my time is always limited these days lol.

There are many ways to play in this market, my preferred way is obviously with boly bands, but I just have an edge with this indicator that most people just dont, it just takes a lot of study of these bands, which I just attached a word document to get people started with this fabulous indicator, your trade at the very top was good for maybe 15-20 pips but although inside of the boly band, look at the 30 and 1hr at the time, clearly showing a rise in price still, so not a good short opportunity, as for the first trade, it looks like we were 3-4 candles into a long move after NFP, so I cant really see a reason for shorting in that area either as we have nothing but green candles after quite sometime of consolidation, as for all the indis, which I dont use any of them, for CH method stochastic is best, macd and rsi are best for divergence, so thats a good reason to have one or both of those, but from my understanding, CH just used stochastics, just my opinion, not advice, as sometimes I do look for divergence as we all know that is a great method of trading and worthy of being in our toolbox, hope this helps a bit, check out the word document I just posted.

I pointed it out as being similar, a reinforcement to what is here. For wider reading.
This thread is about the five bar reversal, so it triple.
People are 'flirting' with BBands, it is part of the 'new' system. People are also a little frightened of the bands because CH does not endorse them.

I am trying to open some eyes and intellects to the whole PA and indies surrounding trading at this level and time frame.

Not for one moment suggesting buying it any more than buying Harris's method which is also available for free - hence this thread.

I take into account round numbers as taught by Boris again and by Harris.

As Cliff said, the info is all there for the taking. All free and available although not always by that name.

The marketers repackage the well known free stuff, give it a pretty name and ask the mugs to buy it.

So podge, no and it is as good as Harris plus Bbands.

Been browsing this thread for the past week...looked at this methodology some time ago and didn't give very much attention to it, looked like another blowing in the wind Stoch method to me. After reading this thread, I see there is some merit to the setups so thought I'd have a go at it.

My style of trading is with PA (Price Action) and the AML's (Andrews Median Lines). Let me know if the AML's are a distraction to this thread...if so I'll hide them before posting. Also would like to hear any comments about posting with a commercial indicator, not sure if I'm supposed to do this or not...?

Thanks to E for starting this thread and PT for taking over when E had health problems.


NR...Did you ever get this resolved or not? I haven't installed your files or template, so don't know if you did or not. If not, would this still be of interest to you...or not?

(Shame the SDX-SweetSpots indi doesn't allow you to run 2 instances of it...I was gonna have one instance for the Big Numbers and a 2nd instance for the Mid Range Numbers. Although, if it had 2 more lines that could be added to it, we'd have a total of 8 lines which would be enough for both BNs and MRNs.)

Hi everyone,

Quick trade last night but I wasnt present, at about midnight est I placed a pending order at 3700 on euro to short it, the high has only been 35 or so pips above this monthly pivot area and only on feb 17 did it go past this area to almost 3800, so I placed a 50 pip stop, which I didnt like, as I dont do much more than 20pips at the most, but I figured the trade needed some room to breath and the odds were with me, since in the past few weeks, price goes above 3700 and always have come back, I set a tp at 3650 and when I got up the trade was triggered and happy day, easy 50pips, this is rare as I like to watch my trades, but I knew this morning I wouldnt get a chance to trade, so I had to use an alternate way of trading.

I see there were some nice moves also on the pound and gj today.

All that are checking out the document I posted yesterday, please make sure that you start at the top and work your way down, it is probably the best way to attack the learning of the boly bands.

By the way, this trade although I was sleeping, had a very nice pinbar, showing bulls couldnt hold onto price and bears took over, any questions on anything in this post, please ask.

Great job with the bolly use, there are many ways to use them, and you will see that over time, in fact, many people use them off of the outer bands, but one of my favorite trades is the reversal off of the middle bands, the middle is equal to the 20simple moving average and usually reverses there or plows right through it, the way to determine what it will do is some sort of candle formation, in your trade a simple up move and then a red reversal candle is all it took, using the stochs help, but they lag even if one speeds them up like you did in your case with the 5 3 3 instead of 8 3 3, they all lag, its all about pure price action bollies and candles is all one really needs, the stochs are handy in confirming the trade especially if one usues a few timeframes to hone in on the entrance to a trade, like I do, I use 15 30 and 1hr timeframes but most times enter on 15 or 30m, now lately with lack of time, I do the same thing with week day and 4hr chart and then just enter off of one of the smaller charts, any questions just ask and keep learning.

Hlass, nice trading I like to make pips while i sleep also. LOL

Today was a good day no relevant news. My only CH set up was a short on GU I scaled my position my position but caught most of the 72 pips on the short side....

Hey, welcome aboard Scrutch, glad to have you here. I don't think there will be a problem posting your charts with other indicators...seems everyone has their own indicators that work for them, I believe most people will enjoy seeing what they are for you. As to your question; though you can't have 2 instances of the SweetSpot indicator on a chart at the same time, there are other indicators that do the same thing with different names which allow you to put on the chart simultaneously...and you can use them for the Mid Range #s.

Thanks for the reply...I wasn't nearly as troubled about the AML's as I was about the commercial indicator...?

Try this guy out and let me know what you think...
Edit: Due credit needs to be given traderathome...he's the one that did all the major mods on the Sweet Spot indi.
I just tweaked it a bit so this thread could have all the BN's and MRN's on one indi...
