I think this chart might be a bit safer than the GBP/CAD.....so if I had my choice - I would get involved with this one.

On a fundamental level - it makes sense. The US is far closer to raising rates than Japan.

The Japanese have had a long term plan of keeping a weak Yen, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. In fact, being an export country - they need it cheaper. That's even more important now that the rest of the world (mostly) is hurting.....

yeah ministry of finance and BOJ have targets of 95 to 105 by years end... the big concern is deflation still (as mentioned everyday by govt officals - literally everyday)

Japan is so far from raising rates - I am starting to wonder if it will ever be in my lifetime!

I am messing with Adobe Acrobat 9 Extended Pro, thinking about doing a newsletter of sorts. This link is a very, very, very rough draft of one. It has a video on two pairs after NFP attached to it on page 2, just click the video to activate it.....

Aside from it telling me I need to update my Adobe, I really like the format.....might want to try a spell-checker before you publish though....

It would be an excellent addition to your current operation.

Thanks for this newsletter, Chris, great stuff. It helped me understand the idea of a "relief rally", which helps with my long-term trend bafflement.

I was only a bit confused about the video saying USD strength against CAD was counterintuitive after better than expected NFP results. Wouldn't good NFP results generally make the USD stronger against other currencies?

You would think so.....but normally the CAD seems to gain strength only because it is a commodity currency, and it exports so much to the USA.

Better US economy = more Americans buying Canadian stuff. (especially lumber, for housing.)

Oh I see... news aren't easy to follow I guess. Not that it's our main concern here, but I find it interesting to learn about.

Regarding reading LT trend, I found a very helpful sentence in your post 3231:

"I look at the length of the trend I am playing to decide if it's a trade I can let run, or want to take my profits relatively soon..."

I really like the link to voice on this with your take on the charts. Really great start. I don't post here only because I have nothing intelligent to say but I've been reading every post for quite a while. Just an excellent thread.

(I hope this is a fair question, if not, just ignore me) What happens in the subscribed thread compared to this forum?

Made some money on this one on the break of 1.05....waiting for the next price action....big picture certainly is down, IMHO. A closer look on Friday, I see an H4 pinbar at an area that is interesting to me. A break below, I'm thinking a sell down to parity...perhaps a bit lower. If it holds, I'll be looking for an opportunity to buy...if I can get some bullish H4 price action to confirm. 1.02 has held a few times now...so we are at an area that makes this very tradeable.

Does this pair need to tests those lows from a few years ago....I think it does.
