DBFX and FXCM are sharing the same software but DBFX's price feed is 100% different, spreads are tighter and steady compared to FXCM. I found that some names form the DBFX customer support are the same as FXCM's support or at least DBFX employees have worked for FXCM.

GuruKrish... I'll try MBTrading.....when I was looking to them , they looked well..
that was my idea 2.....

very good broker, very big and don't play games with your money, plus the spreads has goten mutch tighter. give them a shot.

Are they their own and only liquidity provider?
Would it be right to then say that they are a Market Maker broker, because they themselves set the rates on the platform?
Would this be the same case as CitiFX?

yes it will be the same as citi, but one thing i notice about these big banks comming into the retail game is that they are in business to keep customers and not play games like other MM

I've tried looking for any reference to MetaTrader on their web site however couldn't find any. Could it be that mentioning MetaTrader it would be embarrassing and bad for their reputation as the world's biggest forex liquidity provider? I'd understand if that's the case. I don't know what the relationship is between them, but the price feeds are different, which suggests that DBFX is only using FXCM technology, but not it's liquidity.

Another thing I noticed, is that DBFX requires limits/stops/take profits to be put at least 1-2 pips away from the market. FXCM does not have this requirement.
Does everyone now agree that dbFX is not FXCM?

dbFX is not FXCM, I could assure you. Just take a look at the spreads, much tighter than FXCM's. And about the servers, I believe they're in Boston. And yes, there could be some latency because of the bridge.

Got my account today with metatrader bridge. 5 lot orders on eurodollar, euroswiss during Tokyo session, absolutely no slippage and quick fill. They rock so far.

I have been demo trading fxcm for about 2 months and now have recently switched to dbfx. Even though dbfx does lease their software from fxcm, I have noticed that the program (Marketscope) runs much smoother through dbfx. I'm running windows

7 and I have had constant chart freeze ups with fxcm. dbfx seems to have worked out many of the kinks. I can also speak to the fact that they seem to have more consistent spreads.

I've read several threads online complaining about the dbfx and fxcm being one in the same. The fact is that they are going to have common links between them. With dbfx leasing the platform I'm sure they probably share some of the same staff and

facilities. Honestly it doesn't bother me much, I've been impressed with fxcm. However with account security, decent spreads, and a smoother trading platform I will probably end up depositing with dbfx when I decide to start trading live.

I found this article on Elite Trader about how DBFX and FXCM use the same servers..


DBFX and FXCM Servers Crashed at the Same time confirming this analysis. It is time for us Retail traders to know the truth about the Big FX brokers.

I hope me posting this link will not be a problem as FF also gets paid from FXCM..

I usually use more than one live FX account at any one time. In view of opening another one with DBFX, I have downloaded their demo with a test account.

After using it (please keep in mind it's a demo acc) few days my impressions as follows:

1. I have experienced quite few re-quotes. It's fine if PA moving in favor of you but not so when it's moving against you.
2. While Trading platform looks fine but I found their charting application not so user friendly.
3. I fail to understand why They'd associate themselves with FXCM by using their technology and data servers as FXCM seems to get not so favorable comments from it's customers.
4. Their spread on a demo account better than average.

In respect of using FXCM technology, argument for cost cutting would be a weak one. They are the market leaders, they have know-how and resources. Developing their own platform is not a big cost at all.

With their current offerings, I have my doubts. When in doubt I prefer to wait and see.

They have their own platform for institutional traders, it's called Autobahn (you can google for it).
You have to open 25.000$+ account with them to get access to it.
