Not all days are equal. There are some days when you just shouldn't be trading and this is an advantage individual traders have over institutional traders. No matter what, you need a ritual to make sure you're in the right frame of mind before you pull the trigger. Here's a little ritual I use and it works. You need to know what a "bad trade" is, so see my other post about types of trades.
2.Is the trade described on your Execution Game Plan?
3.Do I have a stop, profit objective, and at least a 2x R/R?
4.Would you take this trade as an example of a good trade for someone you were teaching how to trade?
5.If the trade loses will you say in retrospect that it was a bad trade?
6.Is this where the Kyudo Master would loose his arrow?
These are some examples of questions to ask yourself the moment before you take the trade. You should ask them before you get to this point as well, but it’s also good to do one last check at the very point of execution. Back when we still used phones for trading I called this a “phone ritual” because I always asked myself these questions before picking up the phone. I suppose you could call this a Click Ritual. Don’t laugh at number 6. I get myself in the mindset of a hunter. Kyudo practitioners didn’t hunt but hey, if it works…
