Where does the forecast values on calendar come from?

Hi all,

this is my first post in this forum and i have a question:
Where does the forecast values come from?
e.g. for tomorrow: Crude Oil Inventories
i can read the last value (previous: 3.1M) from the last eia report. but where can i find the expected value (forecast 1.8M). can someone give me the source for the forecast values of crude oil and natural gas? can't find them at eia's homepage or elsewhere.

It's a very good question and the good thing that's come from it is that I have been researching the answer because I don't know. But then I don't trade the news as such. I only enter trades typically an hour or so afterwards if I do.

My stock answer would have been that the estimates were figures from the specific statistical source, but I have checked several and been unable to find any.
