I don't remember the website , but once I had seen on the web a software that reveal the code of the .ex4 files.

Obviously the program wasn't free, but vey expensive.

hey stark.... actually mq4 decompilers are free and can be downloaded from the net.....

they have succombed to the very sort of buisness they created.....

the damage they have done can never be tallied.....

and fwiw, just because someone only has the ex4 does not mean the legitimate open source mq4 is not freely available....

Decompilers work, yes I agree. But the resulting code is useless anyway.

It's like taking a brick building (the original source code), demolishing it, and rebuilding. There are too many pieces to keep track of.

this is not meant to promote or debate decompiling, but the code is not useless....

it's different but that's all..... and unless it's something extreme, decompiled code is really not hard to restore to an almost like new appearance.....

it helps if your adept at coding..... the basic code used throughout most ea's and indicators is easy to spot..... and once you have done it a couple dozen times you'd be suprised at how quick it can be accomplished..... still it's a time wasting task, at least in my mind.....

One category of information that's lost during compilation is variable names. This sounds trivial and unimportant, but since the comments are stripped too variable names are the only breadcrumbs left that could help you understand the code.

Trying to figure out a long decompiled EA is very, very tedious.
