When ever you change screen size you change levels. For example when you change from a 4H chart to a 1H chart, what are you really doing??? You are changing your screen size. 1H to 15M same thing. That changes all your indicators. It is the same thing. All these systems we have previously have one weakness and your chart shows this, You can get a sell while price is at the bottom of the screen and then as it goes north you are into the trade too early. These new lines can solve that problem. The lines are now fixed to the actual range of the particular currency instead of a set of numbers. When MT4 gives you a screen it is based on the range of the currency during that period of time. We are using that qualification as our foundation for trading. In other words MT4 has already done the work of the range of each currency. We use that math to determine the lines to trade from. Now that doesnt mean it does not create new weaknesses but we wont find out the new weaknesses until we get something consistent to test. What is hard to comprehend is your screen size is an indicator based on price action. That is why every currency has a different pip size for its screen. The usd/jpy from top to bottom is different from the gbp/jpy. WHY?? because the screen height is based on price action of the pair for the time period you are looking at. This maybe hard to fathom but your screen size is an indicator.

Good question, my thought and I see guito has worked on it is to establish in the code a frame of reference. You know I like following a 4H chart showing a month period of time on a screen. I feel this gives me a good view of what price action has been doing. In the coding we could do the same thing and that would solve that problem. My backtesting though shows that the screen height for a particular pair does not change much over a year, it is fairly consistant. In other words a currency pairs range on a screen will not change much over a long period of time. Oct. 2008 being the exception.

In essence we did a similar thing with the 60x90. Some traded best on a 5M chart others took a 1H chart etc.

Well we need an EA that does that. If you know where to get a FIB EA that is set up this way that would be great, but I dont think 100% will match the screen. The screen gives us some leeway that a FIB EA probably would not. But that may be a false assumption on my part.

Also, there are many versions of this potential EA.

I would like to request you to post :

1. The version of Nanningbob EA that you are using

2. Pre-set file that you are now running to obtain such good results on 4h.

3. The 9 pairs that you are now using with this ea.

Surprised to see that you are afloat even in the present scenario. I am trying to add one more filter for entry (MA crossover). I have also tried to add many other filters like RSI etc. and it became very confusing.

IazmThat, opened a 2000 demo account playing for dimes. Started with 10 safest pairs that Bob suggest. Last month I lost on one pair but still came out ahead for the month. Dropped that pair and now down to 9. Biggest dd is in the 500 range for both the daily and 4hr. Been trying to play thru the interest rate days but as Bob suggest don't play those days is the best way, thats the days with the big dd. Don't know how you can improve the master ea but I'm all ears when I get a post from you. Trying to knock the pairs down to around 6 then I'll go live with it with a couple grand playing for dimes. I'll keep you guys informed....Dan

James, go to Bob's other thread on the 4hr system and with every post he makes he addes his 10 safest pairs. At the top of every page there is a paper clip at the top right corner, click on that and you will see all the downloads for that thread. Download Bob's 60 X 90 ea and IamThats master ea. Both of these work well right out of the box, on the master you have to have the right time frame for the chart you put it on. Read both threads from the start, it's a great education....Dan

No Bob I don't know of a fib ea that will do that. I've just played with the fib indicator so much that I know you can adjust it several ways and was thinking that could be a trigger for one those excellent minds in ur 4 hr thread. Just trying to help cause I'm all ears when you post also...Dan

I would not adivise you to go Live so soon that too with a dime account. penny account should be more suited for martingale EAs. Well, it depends on your confidence. I will also follow you soon with a much smaller account.
I will drop all further tinkering if you are successful.

Just some notes. Every currency pair at sometime will beat a 3 level system. I dont know what pair you dropped. If you are confident in the 2.4.2 recovery system you can trade dimes on a couple of thousand. I am trading .05 on 700 and I am satisfied with my safety margin even at 100:1. I do have 3 accounts with IBFX though and can transfer funds if things get a little tight so I keep that option going. If you have not traded live before you need to go smaller and get used to it. It is not the same as a demo account so work your way up. If you start at 2000 and trade nickels or lower and move your account up 10% to 2200 then you will feel better enlarging your lot size. Your confidence in your trading skills will grow.

Your pending orders instead of market orders is all the filtering I think the master ea needs, but again I say I'm all ears when you or Bob are posting. Just opened new demo accounts with 2000 for the 1440 and 240 time periods with mm turned on. Opened up trades with .06 instead of the .01. My reality check real account would probably be funded with enough money to open the mm with .01 and let the mm do the rest. I would avoid interest rate days as Bob suggest because thats were the perfect storms are located. I'll keep the thread informed.....Dan

Been live a couple of times ( all losses ) and have been hobby trading several years now to keep this retired gray matter active. Hobby traded a 7 long semi-martingale system that still is winning for me but your ea's are the best I've come across including some I payed (and prayed) for. I'm presently trading IamThats spin-off of your ea's because the pending trades seems to be a filter of your market order trades. Just turned mm on and will see what happens. I think your 2.4.2 recovery is an outstanding compliment to your ea's but I'm not willing to sit in front of this tube all day and baby sit, besides I just second guess myself to death when I do that. I have a 675 range (8 steps) on my 4hr trades and a 900 range on my daily system. Still hobby trading but the thoughts are there to get back in the game with some live money maybe a 2 grand account for pennies with mm turned on. This is my first attempt with mm on and I don't like it opening trades for .06 instead of.01. Anyway I'll keep u informed and thanks for everything.....Dan

Turned the mm off. Had some large dd and haven't been very deep into the sequence. We all know mm is at least 50% of a successful system maybe that is what you should be looking at to improve the ea's?

Here is a range volatility chart based on the last 5 weeks of price action. This should help you in choosing which pairs you wish to trade and the risk you are willing to take. For example my 180 x 100 has a range of 410 above and below the median MA. So its range is 820 from top to bottom. To be a safe trader you probably would not want to trade anything greater than 600. This would give you some leeway for bad news days or what ever. Enjoy.

Hello Nanningbob, IamTHAT, Dan, others...

I found this thread about a week ago and think I've read through it about 3 times. Such wonderful information, such an ingenious system... As of right now I'm only trading IamTHAT's ea because--correct me if I'm wrong--but you can configure it to mimic any of the MA-based ones. Also, I think the pending instead of market orders could end up really revolutionizing the way the system works.

I owe everyone a debt of gratitude for the development of this system and EA's.

One thing--I'm not a coder (although I'd like to think I'm learning), but I think I may have found a minor bug in the 2.0buysellSTOPmaster.. basically, in the part where it multiplies everything for a 5 digit broker by 10, I noticed it does not do so for the stopgap input. Of course, I could be totally wrong in thinking that's necessary.

Another thing, actually--I've noticed several times that when one order hits its take profit, it often (maybe always, haven't tested long enough) closes out all of the open orders above it on that pair. Is it designed to work that way?

Hmm, can I try to answer my own question? I'm assuming this happens because the subsequent levels have multiplied the level size and thus at take profit earned back both the initial order as well as any subsequent orders, and made a profit...

right?

Yeah J, thats the way it's set up. Good to see some new blood in here. Jay I don't mind any of your pm's but in the open forum we can get more people involved. If you are watching the screen all day then Bob's other thread is a auto/manual system that kicks butt.....Dan

Glad to be here, and, I agree--I just wanted to send a few PM's first to make sure I didn't sound like a complete idiot (i'm fine with being somewhat of one) when I posted on the actual thread. I appreciate your help. I'm also very interested in the other 4H system as well, but, hey, one thread at a time, right?

Ok, so I really like the Nanningbob2.0 because of its ability to be customized. Turns out I was bored this evening so I decided to take the 820/600 ratio and make it relative to each of the currencies on the 4H volatility report spreadsheet. I added these columns:

EA Range: Width of 3-level EA from top to bottom
Buffer: Input in Nanningbob2.0; represents distance from MA to first trade
Pips: Input in Nanningbob2.0; represents separation between levels
TP: Based off of 100 TP in 180x100 EA

Have fun.. I'm going to test these out next week on all currency pairs. Obviously, volatility alone doesn't speak to the behavior of the price so I'm sure it will be mixed. My math could be wrong too. Should be interesting to see the results...
