the first time it was not so generous with me, got 53 pip .will it be nice enough to give me a 100 pip this time

hmmm great AUD news today + 53k jobs and unemployment down from 5.6% to 5.3%

im still AUD bull until it breaks that 0.85 area

Whats your latest view on the eur/aud? You now looking for a chance to go long again or giving it a rest with the troubles in the euro?

I have a longer-term view as being bullish. For me, 1.50 is a big area. Also, it's more of an anti-AUD rather than pro-EUR. The Aussies are doing great, but they have to have customers for their natural resources. They have the problem of being the only one's at the party.

Having said all of that - I am not getting in quite yet. I have taken profits a few times over the last few weeks, and made out fairly well. I suspect there are going to be numerous chances to do it again.

I second that sentiment on the Commercial real estate market from a pure fundamental perspective. The Commercial market naturally lags the housing market and we have not seen a hit like the housing market take hold in the commercial market as of yet. I believe it is definitely on the horizon given the amount of businesses that went under due to the credit crisis last year and so on hasnt finished shaking out. Just my two cents.

SRS is another ETF that is short real estate that is near low's.

Right. Just to make sure everyone is straight on this....my chart is a long ETF, so I am looking to short it. Yours of course, is inverse.....so you would buy it. (same trade really.)

Plus, all over America, there are half-empty strip malls......

Yes Chris you are correct. I should have made mention of that. This ETF (SRS) is short real estate so if you buy it you will already be short the market on real estate. I thought I'd mention it for those folks who do not know how to or can not short stocks or use puts on options to borrow (short) the ETF directly. The short is built in, just buy away to your hearts content.

funnily enough commercial prroperty is pretty much my degree I jsut finished, you guys in the US are effed... that is all.

We really are. I am 38, and remember the 80's fairly well. (Well, the bits when I wasn't partying.....lol) Every since about 84, we have had one strip mall after another built. In Columbus, we would build these big malls....only to build another massive and "better" mall a year or two later.

It's gotten so bad that City Center, which once attracted people all the way from places like Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Wheeling now is this empty huge structure in the center of downtown. It' going to be a park. Probably a better use of land truth be known.

I can think of several malls that have already closed. Sad really, some of them were icons. Lazarus downtown used to be a icon for Christmas. They had this huge "North Pole" for the holidays. Think "A Christmas Story".....the whole thing was like the store Ralphy went to in the movie. A real loss that turned out to be when Macy's bought out Lazarus.

Here's an interesting little tidbit: The Wendy's fast food restaurant is from Columbus. The original Wendy's was on Broad Street downtown, right around the corner from the Statehouse. They closed it down, because it wasn't profitable enough anymore. It used to have a lot of the company's history in the dining room. Now it's going to be something unnecessary, I am sure.
