Pardon my ignorance, but are there any advantages for a long-term trader such as myself for using the Viking platform? I never trade around news time and I typically hold open positions for longer periods on higher timeframes.

DislikedRemember that Metatrader does not hedge out your trade on an ECN. Make sure they are a true ECN. And Viking is fine, but what you really need to know is whether you're getting the Currenex pricing engine underneath it. Ask the Currenex white label if they are using their own liquidity or if they are using Currenex ECN liquidity. If they use ECN liquidity then the matching engine will be in sub milliseconds and worth your time. Doesn't matter what GUI you are using as long as your connection is fast and it's using Currenex ECN.Ignored
DislikedNot sure about MT4 capabilities, I heard MT5 will be much more like a true ECN.Ignored

I know Alpari Direct & Alpari Direct Pro and PFGBest Currenex do, but who else?
Most seem to have set their minimum to 100K of base currency.Ignored

DislikedIf you read the GoMarkets Discussion thread (in which I participated) you would discover that they only use Currenex for the price feed. Execution is at some other liquidity provider. That is a huge difference.Ignored
DislikedThat is true, Currenex is nothing but a platform....
on the back end of currenex you can feed the platform with any FIX protocol pricing. Either STP, or aggregated or even you can create your own volumes and post it on Currenex.
Please do not take this that if a broker now provides Currenex that he has a set of banks feeding their currenex platform. this is certainly not the case.
Open two live accounts at currenex platform at any two brokers. and compare the market depth. 99% of the time you will find that its totally two different feeds.
Thanks...Ignored
