Calderon, don't forget that Stratman has a private life with kids as well, beside of trading and programming.

I could have done what I did with THV because Mrs. Cobra was so kind to give me the space for developing THV and all for free.

I'm a little absent actually because I'm in a brand new biz (maybe the last one I start) and still have to care of some stuff of the small bank I founded with some friends, beside of trading, the hotel, juice fabric etc.

Life is short and Michael Jackson went in my age, so I have to join every day as it could be the last, who knows?

I can tell by how personal you are with your work and the support you give to everyone. I guess just set boundries like Cobra does. You have to trade without interuptions as you know. Just make sure you take time for those you care about because I have a feeling your business will pick up a lot this year.
Nothing wrong with being absent from the thread a couple of days through the week.
Anyway, just call it a work in progress.

Family is the most important thing. Feeding your family is right up there too! lol I think Stratman will do very well.

You are right, we should be greatful for the things we have and the people we have in our life. I learned from you in your thread the importance of making time for things. I know your new biz will be a huge success just like all of your ventures!

p.s. I wish you many many many more years!!

The formula of a successful man lies behind the strength of a strong woman. Thanks Mrs Cobra.

Want to say a big thank you for all the wives out there including mine, who is always so supportive from day 1, even during the days of my hardship.

My wife can't understand why I love looking at what she calls " squiggly lines" all day.

My wife is the absolute best. I showed her my chf/jpy and eur/jpy daily charts and explained the pin setups, she said that she wouldn't take either trade because they didn't look right. Now she may or may not be correct but so far the trades(didn't take them) haven't matured.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

Alright, there was way too many lines on M15 for my liking as it is too messy for me to see things clearly, so I cleaned it up a bit and moved each fractal line to its own said TF, so now I can actually see everything much much more clearly in front of me in terms where all the Fractal S/R lines are at.

Here are my plans of how I will go about testing the Dashboard to try to find a good way for me to trade it:

I'm going to try to trade the Dashboard more often starting February, to really start testing it by actually placing test trades on my live account (using the smallest lot size allowed of course). I believe after watching how PA works with it for a few weeks now, I can now start forming rules to test trade it, but I'll have to watch out for that first Friday of February with the biggest news release of the month, the Non-Farm Employment Change, so first week of February might be very slow as well, especially from Monday to Wednesday because of traders waiting for this news. We also have the Unemployment Rate, as well as the G7 Meeting, all on Friday. We'll see if there will at least be enough movement to enter some good trades during the first week of February.

I'm going to test trading off Fractal S/R breaks, with it being the same direction of the overall trend, meaning almost all, if not all the circles on higher time frames, H1-DAY are the same color, and trading in that direction, I will then watch and wait for the PA to break the fractal S/R, then wait for the retest of that break, if held and price travels in the direction of that break again, I will look for an entrance from there. I'll still try to use the THV to find a good entrance, but in this case, the Laguerre might not be needed to confirm for entrance, I might actually not use it at all testing this method, as the more I think about how this overall method might work for me, the less important the Laguerre becomes, as long as SwissArmy is showing all red, meaning all core conditions met for entrance, it should be good to go. Also, I will not enter any counter-trend trades, one way to see is to only trade in the direction of the Compass, and not against it (towards it), the other way of course, is again by looking at the color of circles on from H1 to Day, and of course, by drawing trend lines if you need it to help see the trend better. So if based on Fractal breaks and retest of that break then entering, the entrance signal could come from any of the TF for me, if it is confirmed on a higher time frame, meaning H1 or above fractal break and successful failed retest of that break, then there won't be a set TP for me, as I'll try to ride that trend for as long as possible by moving my SL to above the last swing high for Short, or below the last swing low for Long, then just keep adjusting that as the trend continues until that protective and hopefully positive SL is hit. Basically, this test method will cover all aspects, from scalping, to trend trading. If my lower TF entrances starts to connect with higher TF fractal breaks, then I might just ride that as well for as long as possible, pretty much converting it over as a higher TF fractal break entrance. So... that's pretty much the run down on how I will start test trading with the Dashboard and make adjustments in rules and such as needed as I go, and will see what the results will be after a month or two.

My wife is great as well with her fully support of me trading. Each morning as I start my trading session, she will always wake up with me to make me a cup of coffee, and then sleep next to me on our couch bed in my office as I trade. It has been a long process for me with trading, and like most traders, I've been though tough times in the past as I learn how to trade, but my wife stick with me all the way as she kept supporting my dreams and goals of becoming a successful trader. My wife and my soon to come child is my main energy and force in keeping myself working hard to improve my trading, so to be able to provide them with a brighter future.

Still alive ... nice to see you guys communicating on the thread.

Always keep in mind the following definition of a trend:

UP TREND: price is making higher highs and higher lows
DOWN TREND: price is making lower lows and lower highs

IMPORTANT:
Note that the definition has two parts eg a fractal breakout (high) is giving you a heads up on the first part of the definition ie you know a higher high is now inevitable but you still need a higher low to confirm that the trend is definitely upward.

You can take the trade on the fractal alert (eg high) if the previous low is higher than the one previous to that ... taking the trade without this would be very aggressive (high risk)

If the previous low is lower than the one prior to it, you must wait for a pull-back that creates a higher low. This pull-back could create a low that is lower or higher than the high that was just broken ... but must be higher than the previous low.

It's easy to get lost in this discussion but read it slowly and carefully until you get it ... it is essential to understand this

Yesterday I had only one THV trade on GBPUSD during NY session.

I entered on a dashboard signal, and THV confarmation on m5/m1 TF, but first I waited for the bk of the fractal and previous H1 minimum level. After there was a H1 fractal break and it went strongly down.... Unfortunately I took a good part of the trade, but less of the half move; after some time I get feared and went out (but with good profit for me).

Great tip for anyone who wishes to learn how to confirm a trend, and this is the same exact way of how I confirm a continuation of a trend before I enter, which I've posed few post back. =)

Castlebrook and I had a good chat this morning on skype. In case you don't know, Castlebrook trades a similar strategy to me and is consistently profitable.

As well as the ideas you guys have mentioned, we came up the following:

1) Configurable alerts on all THV lamps
2) Addition of a THV Histo lamp ... distance between fast and slow trix
3) 2nd MA eg currently I use compass and H1 60 period.
4) Configurable alerts on the MA's
5) Configurable alert for average daily range approaching Weekly/Monthly

The histo is similar to what Miss Pips has in the swiss army knife. btw, want to say a big thank you to Miss Pips for all the hard work she does on the thv thread.

Another thing I thought of was to think of the Fast/Slow Trix as MACD and so I will add a histo into the current trix indicator.

Hi Stratman,
I take it that the above enhancements are for the Dashboard. Also I hope we will be able to get the email alert functionality with these enhancements. ( Apologies for being persistent, pls do not take it that I am being pushy)
Cheers

I haven't yet. I've just started looking at that instead of GBPJPY. Did a trade on AU last night at beginning London ... was good. Increased my account by 2% (with 50 pips over 4 trades EU, EJ, GU and AU).

Been programming a lot in Asian session, so haven't taken many trades over last few days (during asian) but will be seriously looking at AU from now on ... has a very good spread (better than GJ)
