what happened to gbp/jpy on jan.4?

what caused such sharp fall without major corrections on jan. 4-5? there were no news that could affect this pair in such way, and i've never seen it act like that without news. what did i miss?

Trends are seldom rational. Frequently, price temporarily moves in ways which are counter-intuitive. The duty of a trader is not necessarily to completely understand why price is moving, but rather follow price and profit in the direction of the trend.
