DislikedNow the effective impact on a 5k account shifting from say 100:1 to 10:1 could make it untradeable depending on what broker your with.

why would it make my sub 5k ibfx mini account untradeable.... couldn't i just use the smallest lot size available and still trade.... such as use 0.01 in an ibfx mini account..... thanks for your time.....hIgnored

DislikedWell, I'm sure Goldman Sachs will be exempt from the 10:1 limit. Us retail traders are so damaging to the economy we need our leverage limited.Ignored
DislikedAn example of what the average trader will need cash leverge to continue trading spot if such a 10:1 becomes new standard.
In defense for those of you that are going to stay with spot and this does happen I am working up a white paper to advise the CFTC of potential danger of clients funds to the Asking them to consider a mandate requirement to provide seperate account with-holdings of Clients funds will full bankruptcy protection just as Futures trader accounts have in place for protection.Ignored
