I have been milkin this pair for a good time now..

Continuation back into its DOWNTREND?? .. possible..

Hi All,

I hope everyone is fresh again. I am ready to build up knowledga and make a business out of it sooner or later. For start here are my positions.
Sorry not to post before them, like this they loose a bit of validity. They are here for disussion.

EG: 50% level of the down trend continuation and supply line - confluence and perfect hint for me. I turned out a perfect trade.

EU: resistance zone. This is rather a corrective up move to my eyes this whole EU bull struggling at the moment. I am considering closing this trade thougs before the news. eh right now.

ACAD: trend continuation. It is finally in profit.

I ad some other positions but the set up was not clear and, intresting, I ended up loosing.

Are these any good entries or I was just lucky?

i am short, but not via any trending system. i dont think cable is trending in any particular direction.

if your entry is at 635 thats a very good entry.

Confluence of 50 Fi and down-trend line since Nov at approx 1.6350.

the audcad has been on my radar but i didnt take any trade. i am scratching my head trying to work out how you got a 50% fib 95563.

to all - given that not many pairs are trending, will it be good if us trendies posted notable pairs in advance of a possible entry? (no not a signal call but just keep your eyes peeled thingy)

there is another trending system thread i follow and those guys are pretty zealous.

I'm getting to that point. I'm just setting up to monitor the 21 pairs my broker offers me but hope I'll be reducing that number with experience and recommendation. With so many pairs to monitor (my current fear is to miss out on a good opportunity - which I hope will dissipate as I become more accustomed to the actual practice of this method as opposed to just theory and watching), I'd welcome a team effort.
Regarding your distinction between an eyes peeled thingy and a signal service: I see no difference between alerts from each other x hours before an entry and 5 seconds after it.
As I say, I'm just setting up... Give me a day or so to get sorted and then we'll see how it goes.
Care to share what the other trending system thread is?

Hi Kan,

Please be careful that you don't try and watch too many pairs; otherwise you run the risk of overloading your brain. I only trade about 6 forex pairs - trust me that is plenty.

PS... I know of the other trading thread and whilst I have nothing "against" it I would recommend sticking with one approach. If you add too many different aspects to trading you end up with analysis paralysis - that is you end up with so many different points of view you don't know which way to turn!

Thanks Dan. After your recent conversation with Coolshades where EurAud and USDCaD were mentioned, I thought I'd better set them all up so I could contribute to discussions on this thread.

Swing high: 2009.11.09 swing low: 2009.12.23.

Agreed with the proposal. I think that is a good idea as our trades should develop to a set up as we should some hours in advance that a potential set up may develop if.....

I have been looking at this pair for a possible short as well, just a bit concerned about the support running @ 1.6248 area shown with the red arrows on my chart. If price makes 1.6220 i might enter.

oh i am not at all following their system (too short a tf there and quite a few CTs) . i am very happy with our system thank you. i have made my own little alteration to our system and that's good enough for me.

re following 21 pairs, please dont. i have been there and done it. i think you should follow the major pairs and leave it at that.

i follow a little more than 6 but i do miss out on trades because of that.



btw Dan, i notice you are spreading cheer and goodwill today on various threads

I think it's a good idea - actually part of the reason for starting this thread was to post trade setups and ideas before they happen, partly for the learning experience for newbies and partly for those of us trading this method to share trades as you suggest.

In fact I would like to take that idea a step further. Eventually I would like one "senior member" (i.e. a regular contributor to this thread with a proven understanding of this method) to represent each currency cross. So (at some point in the future) we know that MemberX is the guy to talk to about GBP/USD, MemberY is the guy to talk to about USD/CAD, MemberZ is the guy to talk to about EUR/GBP etc. Then I would like that person to be responsible for analysis of the currency each week and discuss potential setups - then this thread would become really useful. But that is something I am planning for the future!

I agree with that. For this style of trading nice trending instruments are the great ones. However, I also feel that monitoring many pairs (say some 10) gives the opportunity to get picky. Ok, 6 pairs also give the opportunity to get picky. One thing why I lost demo money was being in some 4-7 trades from different pairs. Wrong. You make plenty pips with 2-3 pairs only, so there is the proof...

I look forward to your new thread for 2010 and your new summary.

Dan what a great idea i think that would be very useful for everyone. I think i might fall into the trap of watching to many pairs (15 at the moment) do you mind me asking which pairs you find the most trendy and that you follow?

Anyone else think $/cad & aud/$ are best defined trends of the common pairs? Even with these we are not making new lows or highs. Others seem to reflect market uncertainty.

i think thats because $ is stuck. cable is an excellent example of what i mean. till the time $ makes up her mind, all pairs will range or move very slowly. (ultimately every currency has a relationship with $)

by the way audusd is falling nicely and hopefully should come down to where we can trade off her next week.
