No problem, still learning this particular strategy myself but it is plain and simple and certainly backtesting, which is not lagging so is valid has looked very promising, not the best start today but the day is young.

Nice entry (wife), I was just going to post about the TD Buy Setup on the 4 hour, perhaps if you could give us a little more insight into how you enter if you get the time. Maybe your wife should be running the thread, she is certainly blowing my trading out of the water... lol...

As FXTaiko has just shown, there was a TD Buy setup on the 4 hour chart on this pair which completed at 03:00am GMT this morning. Perhaps I should have waited for the 1 hour chart to then complete a TD Sell setup followed by thrust bar to get involved rather than entering on the 15 minute chart.

My current take on this pair is that we are still bearish (long-term) and the action seen yesterday should be followed through but like I say perhaps the TD Buy Setup on the 4 hour should have been taken as a warning for the potential for a larger retracement before the trend kicks in again and one should therefore have waited for a higher timeframe i.e. 1 hour to enter short again. This is still a learning progress for me so this development should be noted for further opportunities into the future.

I have added 5 charts which I have noted below their significance.

15 Minute: TD Sell Setup complete, waiting for second bearish thrust.
30 Minute: Bar 7 of a TD Sell Setup
1 Hour: TD Sell Setup complete, waiting for first bearish thrust
4 Hour: TD Buy Setup complete, first bullish thrust imminent
Daily: Bearish thrust and close below bullish thrusts low yesterday

All of the condtions above are bearish overall but the only thing that is worrying is the 4 hour TD Buy Setup followed by the imminent bullish thrust. As I have said above perhaps the best action would be to take hourly bearish thrust?

Ok, so for now I will stick to my guns and take the second bearish thrust signal on the 15 minute, things are certainly moving in favour of the bear more so than earlier this morning so who knows, perhaps I will actually get back some of my losses today

EURJPY made a TD Sell Setup on the 15 minute chart earlier and entry was taken on the close of the bearish thrust bar. Thing's are begining to look more bearish on USDJPY and GBPJPY now so perhaps this will play out, time will tell. My initial target for this one is the TDST support of 131.95 at which point I will take some profits and move the remainder of the trade to BE.

As the title explains, I was short at 92.32 but have been stopped by 1 pip after the news and my direction seems to be playing out. Perhaps I should have used the 92.55 stop level from the 30 minute chart instead of the 15 minute stop, anyway, its gone now... The amount of times I get stopped by just one pip .... That's another story...

Anyway, as I was going to state, the bears were sharpening their claws for an assault which appears to be coming true as I write this post. Although I have been stopped, the one hour chart shows the potential for a first bearish thrust pattern at which point one could zoom in a few timeframes and look to go short later today.

fxtaiko, your chart is referred. as i am a newbie i find your chart is very interesting and useful. if you may, would you direct me the source for the indicator and some reading material about the trading method on red/blue (RL/SL). i can be reached via pm. thanks.

Thought I would just highlight a situation that can be found on any pair I am sure if one has the time to look, please do and post, I am getting very lonely here, neither involvement nor criticism

Anyway, the chart below is of recent action on GBPJPY, yes I posted I was looking to go short today which was my take on the market but here is another way to view the market with only DeMark and possibly closer to the method FXTailko adopts.

So in the picture I have added both the 4 hour and 15 minute action over the last 24 hours. Firstly the 4 hour chart show us that we had a TD Buy Setup, TDST bounce followed by a Bullish thrust bar. I have noted that it would be just after this thrust bar (11:00am GMT and on) that you may look for opportunities to go long. Then if we zoom into the 15 minute chart it shows a TD Buy Setup followed by a bullish thrust which would be stopped but the second bullish thrust bar is small and very low risk and brings about a nice move and thus gets you in the direction of the bias taken from the 4 hour chart.

Perhaps, this method could be traded souly with this type of thing in mind, opinions, critiques and posting all welcome...

Thanks for your effort in posting and asking for opnions and feedback. Here is my take on it: These are the timeframes we are looking at aily, 4hr, 1hr, 30min, 15min and 5 min. Let us suppose we are looking to trade the TDF on daily and we want to zoom in to lower timeframes to enter. My take is that once the bearsih thrush or bullish thrust is confirmed it would be better to zoom in first to 4hr rather than move to 1hr or lower...

The reason is that there are always conflicts as far as signals are concerned on different timeframes, so we must do it in a stepwise fashion and not jump between timeframes. So fisrt we must move from daily to 4hr, then 1hr and so on as we have seen on GBPJPY example Bearish thrust on daily completed but 4 hr indicated a buy instead of a short so moving straight to 15min or 30 in chart woud most likely result in a stop out. So what I am currently doing is watch the 4 hr chart TD count upside or any sign of bull exhaustion to zoom in again to 1hr to enter short. So if I want to trade TDF on 4hr charts, will zoom in on 1hr and enter on30 min , if watching TDF on 1 hr would zoom in to 30 min and enter on 15 or 5 min charts.However one can still enter on 5 or 15 min charts even if trading daily but one needs to expect a few stopouts, its a trade off that one needs to make. Im sure foggytrader willl not mind if I ask your commnets to these thoughts.

You make some very good points FXSnipe, I am thinking along the same lines so will try to post some stuff as it happens.

If anyone else would like to chose a pair and do analysis and post on all the timeframes regularly that would help the progress of this thread. If there is anyone willing to do this please use my template on the first post so we keep all the chart nice and clean.

I have been travelling tonight so have had no time to do full analysis, but at a quick glance I see no change in the pairs I have been sidelined in nor the ones I was trading today, my EURJPY and GBPJPY trades from earlier today were out for breakeven and I am currently short EURJPY 133.25 and will do more postings in the morning.

Volunteering to do analysis on this pair( Sterling Yen), though it will be half-baked for now as I dont have time this week so I might miss analysis on lower time frames. I have never attcjhed charts on FF so bear with me if it doesn't come alright. I ma currently watching the 4 hr chart on GJ as the bearish thrust on daily chart is already completed. Here is the critical level 147.14, if breached to the downside one will zoom in to lower time frame for a short, though its not really a classic bullish thrust bar as per your rules. A classic one is prior to that and the low is at 146.81, so watching these levels, so between these two levesl one can take a short on lower timeframes, lets see what happens...

During my trading time off in December I did some research on the TDST stuff including your other thread which was great. First up I would just like to thank you for your hard work, because it really got me interested in this system.

In regards to "TDF", it is spot on in my thoughts. Waiting for the thrust is just plain genius.

I may actually begin using TDF as my primary trading system on the daily. Hope to contribute something to this great thread very soon.
