Not really surprised your a well spring of practical & advanced fx knowledge, but I'm not sure your Basket RSI indi offers much advantage over the default MACD that comes in MT4. If so what is it? Maybe I haven't been using it long enough yet to see it's benefits.

Yeah the basket does lag a bit, doesn't it.
I had an idea for a rsi basket that's all.
As the old saying goes "at least we tried".

Speaking of MACD,
Had some time over the past few days to hack some indicators.
Maybe you'll like this one,
Schaff trend cycle and mtf cycle indicator.

Instructions are simple:
Put both Schaff Trend Cycle and Rip Swing Point into your indicators folder.
Run "RIP Swing Point".
I found the architecture here:

Needless to say, I've modified it.
Runs off cycles now( 2timeframes) 1 large( big box) 1 small( small box)
Green is buy; red is sell.
Green followed by Red; Red followed by green.
Targets are open but can be those unresolved PA Stars.

Looks very good on 4hr, thanks for sharing, will start testing today.
Hopefully market moves better today than it did yesterday.
If not guess we can always try it in the simulator/back-tester.
You might help turn me pro yet. Great holiday gift for all that follow this thread.

PSS: You ever use p&f at all, I think it shows off s&r levels even better than renko charts do & on chart version may have less lag issues too I think.

Trade was good for 30 pips even though very late entry.

Want it more more p&f than renko, but should help on both.
Tired to use the dxtrade 45fxguy info indi to calculate this, but not very close to his number..

Nice trade.

I don't really like the default time settings on "Rip Swing Point".
Try Short period -240- Long Period -1440-. Reason being it is much more "harmonic".This way for every long period signal you'll get approx. 3 short period signals and vice versa. Possibly making it much easier to trade the waves in between as well as help you anticipate moves better.
So, big green box(1440)= 3 small green boxes(240) then reversal.
big red box(1440)=3 small red boxes(240) then reversal.
No guarantee's lol.

I'll have a look at that r/r indi. Not sure about that ATR calc. you need to elaborate.
PS. I'm supposed to be on vacation.

Sorry didn't know your on vacation, that's one job way too easy to take home with you isn't it?

I may have to try the ATR cal Pippopotamus' way a few times & get back with him 1st anyway, if I'm still having trouble with it.
When I understand it better & it's benefits then I'll get back with you.

I'll give those new settings a try. I only got two trades in this morning. Was trying to figure out what was maxing out my cpu usage again. Think it was the on chart P&F indi.

Playing with your indi settings.
Think maybe 15 short and 240 long is ok if you want plenty of entry & exit signals for scalping 20 to 50 pips on 4hr charts with HighLowMode turned on, but will see.
Also trying FastMA 9, & SlowMA 18.

I'm sure there'll be some bugs, different settings and the like.

I'd much rather speculate on where Euro/jpy will be in the new year.

Your guess is probably better than mine, it's been that low before, but I'd be very surprised if it got that low within 3 to 6 months.

May need to check the indi for repaint issues. This was test demo trade took last night before going to bed & I don't remember seeing those green dots below, but then again I had the chart zoomed out quite a bit too I think, so maybe could have missed it. Would it be hard to change the default buy signal color to aqua blue instead of dark green? I can probably do it myself if I have a look at the code, but thought maybe you could drop a hint on how to do it.
It doesn't show up very well on the darker backgrounds which I usually like to use. I changed it under inputs and re-saved as template, but it always falls back to it's defaults colors some reason.

Yeah, but's it not a repaint as popular belief would have. It's more like an offset if my understanding is correct.
The orginal algo has what seems to be a time delay, again this is an anticipatory indi based off a Schaff Trend Cycle.

Anyhow here's another interesting indi. which I found over here:

The Coppock Curve looks pretty good, & may make entry/exit signals much easier to see than the way macd shows them. Will have to test that one on renko charts too. Thanks again for sharing...

One thing I must admit-
I share the view with those who feel indications are only indications and that price, and its action are the true drivers.
As I had mentioned, for a long time I've found the application of math in financial markets intriguing and this is because of my predisposition to it's effects on the proprietary risk taking side of FX and not necessarily my education.
There seems to be a good collection of indication stuff here now.
Take all the empirical's with a grain of salt as more than half this stuff is trash and should not be used.

I agree 100%, I just look at new indis now & again mostly for the fun of it.
Started an indi free thread which didn't catch much attention, but think I can trade just as well if not better without them.
For me it's mostly just about being at the right pair/cross at the right time to see a good setup, & to get in/out well before the trend is nearly over.
Anyway here's one more I ran across today also recommended by a pro trader, but haven't looked at it myself yet.

Sorry man no intent to play you. That didn't come out quite right I guess, but as far as I know there are not any indicators that can see into the future yet.
With or without indicators, we are just trying to speculate what's going to happen next based on what has already happened.
Do you know any currency strength indicators that work differently?

How did you guys do it?

Do you ever trade with pin pars, if so do you have any recommendations for those input settings on the Price Action indi for different pair/crosses and time frames?

I see you've been racking up the FF vouches, congrats on that.
