hi Trezuz,

In your first example the range is

- + - + - + so i play
+ - + + + +

in the second example the range

+ - + - + - + - and i play
- + - - - - - -

the 4th and the next orders are the same of the 3rd, untill the range is finished...

That's what I thought. I was just confused by the way you answered the question above. Thanks for clarifying!

becos i thought if there is any way to open lesser lots so as to pay lesser spread.

If you've been following the discussion of Zebulon's ORIGINAL strategy, I wrote a back tester to make testing his original strategy easier for everyong.

For those of you interested in back testing his Alternate Strategy, I've written a back tester for it as well here:

It looks like it WAY out performs the 'original' strategy.

Great job.

Alternate Strategy calls for a limited 2-stage martingale only, that is after 2 losses the position size reverts back to 1 lot, is this built in the back tester?

C-speed your work is great and the backtest with 25 pips candle gives great results.

C-speed did not implement 2 step martingale. It's unlimited in tests.
So for 2009 we have max 8 consecutive losses for 50 pips candles.
It means that for last trade we need to put 12,8 lot when we start from 0,1.

Don't get too enthusiastic. For time 2000-2009 we had 17 consecutive loss (6553,6 lots) .

Results:

Wins: 24,534
Losses: 24,230
Win Pips: 5,461,900
Lose Pips: 4,848,550
Net Pips: 613,350

It seems to me a great results....

I see max 17 cosegutive losses, that are 425 pips, it's big loss but we need also money management, that is the most important things for a winner strategy.

It's not correct...17 consecutive losses with 25 pips candles and an infinite martingale is unsustainable...

With Zebulon's martingale it will be:

-25 -50 -100 -25 -50 -100 -25 -50 -100 -25 -50 -100 -25 -50 -100 -25 -50= 950 pips...

but the backtester uses an infinite martingale...so the results are not right...

Thanks howard for pointing that out. I wasn't aware that the Alternate Strategy also limited the Martingale to 3 levels.

I'll update it right away.

Ok, I've updated the back tester for the Alternate strategy, and the results are not very good. Martingale resets back to 1 lot after 2 consecutive losses.

C speed, could you add 500 and 1000 bars to those strategies? thanks. I know that it is easy to test with such big bars but it would be without mistakes with manually testing one can make...

HI, C-speed, can you test the frequency of consective loss during the time? it might be good way to adjust the system.
