Great post agree 100% with you. I think emotion is the hardist but most important thing to control.( Well at least for me)

I've only heard bad experiences about DBFX.
They use th FXCM plataform.

Try IB, but not with less than $ 25000.

It is not a loss unless you close your live account. It is a drawdown. OK 48% is a large drawdown but plenty of people here have had drawdowns of 40% and have traded there way back into profit. Since I have been following the thread here I have had less and smaller drawdowns. Please take Auxesis, GEfx and Gro good advice.

Be gentle with yourself. We all had drawdowns including Fti. I am sure you will become a good trader. Ray

Hi ALL,

Hah, found some time.

I am so very glad. I am so glad in reading the postings here that, Many here have become Masters, of their own right. It helps me not having to repeat points again and again. What is best is that many are willing to come forth to help those that may be still understudying the required skills.
Its makes my heart feel warm.

There is no training to substitute experience. Each must walk their own paths, finding and overcoming their own scorpions. Aptitude cannot be taught, best all can do is to guide towards the development.

Please all my friends, remember , that we are all human, and when we get together, personality clashes can happen. We are all different althought of like mindset.If such occurs, it is best we take a step back to compromise and find synergies, than rub each other in the wrong way. If we hold to this honour, then we will have a community of friends forever or until FF ceases to be.Help each other when we can, experiment and trash out issues as they arise, to find the best practises. Have the ability to agree to disagree sometimes, to find the truth. Many of us will find our way thru mistakes, lest the mistakes exterminate us.

I will be online with you , as and when I find the time and energy to do so. While I am finding my footing, Meantime, I am very sure , there is enough good people here to keep the community ALIVE.

Happy weekend to everyone. fti, it does feel like going into battle each day when trading the forex, and for most of us the biggest battle that is the one raging within us. Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend.

Just a few notes from my work this morning, which is not meant to crystal ball anything but some things to consider as we finish 2009 and prepare for 2010. I was thinking about the E/$ and perhaps the GBP/$, too. The FA from the US are showing some signs of economic stabilization (ie, manufacturing activity is ticking up, inventories are building, retail sales are positive, trade balance less negative which may indicate improvements in overall GDP). That being said, and we have talked about this over the past few months, there are still huge problems with the US economy so we are not out of the woods (not Tiger) yet.

However, since trading forex requires a comparative analysis, consider the following about Europe. These are just from some reading over the last few days. Greece and Spain are in serious trouble, with maybe a half dozen European countries following close behind. The ECB has stated that they will not change the rules for these countries, so they are basically on their own when dealing with their problems. This brings up some questions about the fundamental nature of the EU and its currency base. The big question in my mind is will 2010 see another EU crisis?

European banks have disclosed that they hold huge amounts of troubled US assests (the ones that US banks have been writing off and which caused them to raise capital). These banks have held on to them in hopes that the problems will resolve themselves. As foreclosure rates in the US continue to tick up, these assets are in danger. If European banks have to start dealing with these in 2010, there could be major problems with European banks and the ECB will be hard pressed to help.

Manufacturing activity in Europe has not recovered well, and as the Euro gains strength, manufacturing becomes weaker. In addition, conditions in Britian are not improving at the same pace as they appear to be improving in the US, according to the articles I have been reading.

I would not enter a trade on any of this information -- LOL -- but think it may help explain why the dollar popped up this week. Some attribute the pop to year-end profit taking and position squaring, but the actual reason may be deeper than that.

OK, that is how I spend my Saturday mornings and just wanted to share with my trading friends.

What are you expecting from retail brokers? What sort of problems are you experiencing? Are your orders not being filled and spreads wider than expected?

Central Europe now : Mess. Economies are in depression, some parts are near bancruptcy. Some states from EU have "Old fashioned manners"-This is very bad. I feel it in the Czech Republic. These republicks from the center(Poland, CZ, Magyar...) are NOT SWIFT! And due to peoples nature, they probably will never be. But EU has got 2 strong leadres : Germany and France. They never will be satisfy that they are not number one. So my own opinion is, that because of Germany and France, EU will grow up. But EURO should do some correction, because of export.

US is far from out of the crisis yet. What FED's doing with that crazy money printing is basically covering the old debt by creating a new, bigger one. It's funny how they decided to solve a problem caused by too much credit and consumption by stimulating credit and consumption. UK is following the same model and everyone can see what's happening there.
I don't think the EU will suffer too much. The countries in big trouble are Greece and Ireland with Spain following, however those are far from being the economics leaders in the union. Plus it's my personal opinion that Spain has enough economic muscles to lead itself out. Greece has very strong tourism and good agricultural sector so within a year or two they will be OK too. Ireland is a very different story however as they are currently the country with worst debt/GDP ration in the world - nearly 1000%. The so called "Celtic tiger (not Woods )" is paying the price now, I guess. Central and Eastern Europe economies are still developing so it's normal for them to experience some lag on the way out, especially when the bottom line of the problem is lack of fresh money and investments.

Fana, and Setebos, you make good points re: EU. My post, however, was meant to explain possible short term and medium term direction (trend change?) for the E/$ and GBP/$. As I develop my trading plans, I will not fight dollar strength, but will follow PA where it takes me, with no bias of dollar weakness getting in my way and for that matter, no bias of dollar strength. The point is, if fundamentals have changed or are changing, then PA will follow and you don't want to get caught with your bias unchecked. Should be a fun trading week.
