Started a FXDD account at 60K for demo for forum member request to see how well a Holy Grail can do. Started on Dec 1, and it is almost up 5%, which is pretty good for this EA with the reduced volume the last couple of days.

Yes....
and there is system which is 100% accurate - off course you need discipline and you got to work hard for your money this system is absolutly mechanical and involvs only logics no indicators needed it is not „in 5 minute millioner”. I developed this system year ago together with my brother.
Forget all myth about idicators, market noises Elliot and other waves e.t.c.( belive me all this is crap) just open naked chart zoom out and tray to understand how price moves then ask your self symple qestions how to benefit fom these moves and you will see how semple it is. I am in this bussines 4 years and I have some expierience so I am not tolking empty...

Ooooooooooooops.

I now got what is wrong with 95% of the traders. They try to "zoom in" on whatever appears naked.

I don't know why people believe in a Grail. It sounds like loser talk to me - hoping that one thing will fix everything and bring riches. This may be true for some (such as an otherwise great trader having poor money management), but most lack a variety of traits/skills, and no single, simple fix will turn them into good traders.

yeah, there is a grail, but it's different for everyone who is successful and trading for a living. and it ain't no damn EA! just look to who has been trading for long periods of time and you'll see that it's a combination fo things that make up their "grail"

My friend, you are very wrong about your comment in regards to EA's, if you stay in this business for long you will see what I mean.

I wanted to quote another post I made again, to demonstrate the knowledge I am trying to impart to interested parties in relation to EA's.

There seems to be a lot of confusion and frustration in regards to EA's and automated trading. I thought I would discuss this, and to educate traders in regards to automated trading (EA expert advisors).

When you think of the Holy Grail in regards to forex, most people think of some kind of automated system that runs by itself, and is as good as printing money. There are mainly 2 schools of thought, no Holy Grail exists, or it is possible.

I think because of my experience and employment I can comment fairly comment on these two areas. First of all, the Holy Grail of EA's does it exist??? yes and no. This is because at the retail level for traders the Holy Grail does not exist, you are not going to buy an EA for $89 that is going to pump out 50% ROI on your account day in and day out.

On the commercial side of things, yes the Holy Grail does exist. Speak to an operations manager from a forex trading bank, and if they were honest they would tell you about their robot's that will turn over 20-40% per month. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

If you want a proper EA that is going to make good returns month in and month out, you are going to have to spend some money. Most EA's I know of that work very well start at about $1000 USD and go up from there. I have yet to see a cheap retail EA that performs well over a long period with good returns and low drawdown.

One of the biggest reasons that the retail EA's fall down is the reward ratio and stop-loss settings. You will find all the best commercial EA's have this in common, they all use probability settings for logic in regards to trades, stoplosses, and profit taking....

You will find a lot of robots still operate off metatrader 4, as this is a good operating platform for them, also bridges are easily made to connect to other disimiliar platforms, ie Dukascopy etc.

I often get emails in regards to selection of a great EA, something that might be referred to as a Holy Grail type of indicator. As mentioned before, I have not come across any retail versions that work and make lots of money, (except for their designers of course) over a long period of time. I think we all receive expert adviser spam from time to time with the latest and greatest EA.

If you want to find a great EA, you need to become friends with a high end hedge fund/currency managers, and if they are willing to tell you, find a little bit about how their system operates. Or better yet, educate yourself in relation to how the market works in regards to price action, and you just might think of a great idea for an EA yourself.

One of the reasons I post the results of our EA's, is for the people that love EA's, for them not to lose heart, to show them what is possible, and to keep looking for that right EA that will meet their needs...lol...remember I did not say buy every EA they see....look with your head, not with your heart

oh I'll be around for quite a while! but while i don' think very many (less than 1%) work, there are profitable ones that will never see the masses. and one person in a programming section of a different forum asked a skilled programmer why program for us if you don't believe that no ones system can be programmed. he said a few answers but these stood out the most.

2. those big guys you talk about don't use EA's the same way we use them on the retail side. he didn't say how he just said it wasn't like what we would think.

No disrespect, but you have been misinformed. If I had you for a week in my office I would make you a believer in regards what is possible in regards to automated trading.

In regards to the 1% you are talking about, I agree with you in regards to robots that are available to the public.

You can notice the NFP dip in the middle of the graph. This is always a mark of a good system that can recover from important news releases.

I haven't been misinformed, just have seen every variation of an EA and most do not work. I am working on one but will i use it live? don't know yet. we'll see but if I do, it will trade any instrument in mt4, regardless of what it is. as long as the R:R is correct

Yes! Of course the term "Holy Grail" in a trading context will be defined differently, for different people. For me, it means having a trading methodology that:

-Exists for specific and definable reasons

-I am comfortable with

-has the ability to learn and adapt to changing market conditions, without having to experience losses to realise the need for that adaptability..

- has tangible outputs, including but not limited to, consistent profitability.

My Holy Grail is inside my head and is an end to end trading methodology - it does not reside in an EA or a singular "system" I learnt from someone else.

Consistant positive expectancy prob. doesn't exist. If it does then I can tell you no one will tell you. Since I am only aware of maybe 2 billionaire technical traders in the world I would suspect it was more luck. Reason is if it continued to work, before to long, they would be worth a trillion plus. The money potential would be the cap of MZM in circulation. Most rational reply would be a definant no.

No it's not. The most rational reply is that there are limits to what can be achieved. Some think markets always change, and they do, but at the same time they always stay the same. Markets are built by human behaviour, and human behaviour is consistent.
