Do the opposite and profit

Hello all, I'm a newbie and for the past two years have studied several strategies with no success, except for very profitable casino style trading on gold...

Then the obvious comes to mind... if 95% of traders lose money consistently, if we bet on the opposite trade of the herd we profit...

That would probably mean to do the very opposite of what books and gurus recommend, maybe sell at dips, buy at tops, go always counter trend, aim for large sl and short tp and other crazy ideas since when we follow these rules we apparently always lose money...

So who is the worse trader among us? We should DO THE OPPOSITE AND PROFIT!!! (I understand a successful trader might want to hide the secret but maybe a incredible loser might give us the holy grail....)

Now, seriously, anybody have any great ideas to discuss, I mean anything that is counter intuitive, against mainstream beliefs...?

doesnt work. lets use a simple ma cross system for example. with all crosses, you will have a series of small trades then a couple big trades, then a series of small ones, so on and so forth. now, when trading the big ones, you will most likely win because the trend is sustained long enough for you to get in and make some money. with the small rangy trades however, the trade lags to the point that when you get in, the market will have already reversed direction, or the trade was so small you are breaking even or eating spread. now, when you reverse the direction, you end up losing the big trades and you STILL lose the small ones. the ma's dont react fast enough to capture those small trades. if it does soehow, the wins gained from those trades will not cover the big losses. this is the same for all the other systems out there. just doesnt work.
