Made some pips...but then stopped myself out of a UJ trade that turned into a runner and then gave back any profits by the end of day! Quit while your ahead...

Just one opportunity that I saw...took this U/J and exited at b/e when it didn't run initially... (I took the pinbar that formed the high, not the one connecting DIV)...

Maybe something with the trend in the near future though...

I took the red one and got stoped out at break even. Not too bad!

I wasn't watching this method today but in general it was quicksand out there. All those little hourly bars lining up next to each other. Didn't even feel like much of a tightening, just dead time. Days like this I don't even bother to check the daily bars.

And I'm on a plane for most of tomorrow and vacationing for the rest of the week. I'll still look in to see what's going on.

NFP friday as well so it may stay quiet until then. The week before NFP is always a little funny
I didn't take these...as am still working during day, but like to review at end of day and these are the potential trades that could have been taken, in my view they were all decent entry setups.

I am looking for sound signal every 5 min so I can check 5 min candle finish forming. Is anyone using something for this purpose and where to find it?

Hi Andy, I use SayTheTime It has a free trial period and then you can buy it for $25. I Love it and use it all the time. You can change the settings from every 5 minutes up to every hour and if you get tired of Richards voice you can switch to Rose

Andy - why dont you use one of the several Pinbar indicators posted here that sounds an alert when a pinbar is formed...stop you having to check every 5 mins...?

Hi Andy,

If you are using MT4, you can try these indicators. I am using these with great effect.

1) Bar Close Alarm = You can attach it to chart (any timeframe) and set alarm to alert 1 minute, two minute etc. before the candle close.

2) Pinbar = It will open alert when Pinbar is formed on that particular timeframe. I think it uses some kind of Average True Range, as such it only identify reasonable Pinbars and not some crappy small ones.

Wow, thank you guys! I did not expect to get so many responses. I will try all of what you suggested and see what is better. In day time I use my old electronic watch Casio. They have function to make a signal every 5 min without additional reset. But at night, I don't want to wake my wife up every 5 min. That is why I looking for something on computer that give me the same signal every 5 min and I will be in headphones.

The thing is, I am not looking for only pin bars now. Don't get me wrong pin bars are great.

I think the pin itself is shadowed by quite abit of previous price action, I think the best pins are ones that stand out on there own or as much as possible...

but in this particular case,
trade from the outer Bolli gives u the best discount/best price
Pins/PA setups like this are part of headfakes (if interested, i made several? posts about headfakes in this thread a few months ago). Bolli headfakes occur prior, during, or right after a Bolli squeeze/pinch (i made posts about Bolli squeeze too). this pin in joker's chart could've been a headfake near the start of the possible squeeze.

there were some traffic in the immediate left, but the Pin was a bit huge & was a clear indication of buyers/demand coming in ( + RSI divergence ) at that time.

entered short on break of the pin yesterday.

ct with div.

would have been better if pin had larger nose but i took it. thought i could get 1:1.

stopped out for 16 pip loss. stop was 2 pips above top of pin.

Can see why you took this. The only comment I would make is that the pin could have been in a better place i.e. at the top of the BB IMO.

But, the obvious pin to take for the day is the 6.45 (I think that's the right time looking at your chart) pin long...stands out and would have potentially produced a vey high RR.
