Im having problems going back to previous dates. I set the dates
from: (2007.01.01)
to: (2009.09.26)

isn't it suppose to start the simulation from 2007 ?? it keeps starting from 2009.05.26.

i tried the skip to, doesn't seem to work.

Hi there,

I'm having issue backtesting the data before September? It seems everytime i try to set a date earlier than September on the EURO/USD pair and it just started running on September.

This is weird, I wonder if i did it the wrong way, do you have an emal or chat? Would like to further discuss if you don't mind.

Thanks man!

TK

I wrote this simulator a few years ago and have not had any time to update/upgrade it. There are a few little quirks like this one.

It still functions as needed to practice trading. Ultimately the report form MT4 iself will show the results accurately.

Be very useful if it could be speeded up somehow. I only trade for few hours a day but have to wait for the sim to progress through the entire day until my next trading time zone is met, any way of jumping forward x hours.

you'll figure what i mean if you have indicators loaded up, it takes ages.

great tool by the way, just looking for an improvement if possible.

thank you
PG

Had the same problem a few times, I just hit the start button again and it opens it up in a chart window straight away.

The problem I have is for me it goes back only a few weeks/months/days depending on the t/f, irrespective what dates/years I enter. Any suggestions?

This sounds like MetaTrader has not downloaded enough chart data.

One way to force it is to open a regular chart (not in tester) on the pair. Put it on the 1 minute, 5 minute, 15 minute etc and keep scrolling back in the chart. Then when the chart runs out of data it will download from MetaTrader. Eventually it will stop downloading and you will have the maximum chart data in your MetaTrader. TIP. Make the bars the smallest size possible, you can scroll back faster.

Hi Quantem,

first of all let me thank you very much for this tool you created. It is, as lots of posters have already mentioned, very valuable.

However, some of the indicators I am using do not work/update while I run this trade simulator. I have attached two of those indicators.

Could you please advise on why this occurs and possibly on how to circumnavigate this issue.

Best regards,

Wolfgang

I like this simulator very much, although it has a major drawback - you cannot open multiple positions, is that something that is going to be included?

In your trade simulator, you only allow Buy Stop and Sell stop (ie, when the price rise or falls to this value, the trade is enter). What about Buy Limit and Sell Limit as provided by MT4? Is there a way to implement this?

Thanks..

I am able to program, so if you like my help, maybe you can contact me at [email protected].

I actually just registered to thank you for writing this wonderful expert advisor! Reading through the posts I'm surprised people were hating on you, the PDF instructions, the addition of not just replay but simulated trade scripts, for FREE, incredible. Thank you very much!
