Here I would start to filter:

No short trade in OS zone, no long trade in OB zone.

But: I wouldn't set a rule that the EA trades only outside of OB/OS zones as we would lose some good trades

I agree. Pic attached with a choppy Eur/Usd yesterday.

I have been playing around with different settings on 5 min charts in the event anyone is curious about the 5 mins. Have used a 14,14 on Gbp/Usd for last few days (London session, turned off when major news breaking) and it turned a $10k demo into $15k (risky amount of lots). 50 pip limit and 33 pip stop (SL has not been hit once).

Eur/Usd has seen mixed results and still trying to find some good settings there for 5 mins.

Have had 1 trade thus far on the 4 hr and sitting around 150+pip profit at the moment. Standard 8,13 setting.

I have not used it on the 15's. Visually doesn't seem to be a good timeframe for this indi. If anyone has 15 min data/ideas let's hear about it.

Happy pipping!

Anyone else experience this? Uranus EA opened a position correctly then closed it on the next bar without target or stop being hit, or DSS signal change.

As a professional trader this is by far one of the absolute best indicators I have seen. I may have even picked it up in FF. (Been cruising the forums today....avoiding paperwork and came upon it).

Pic attached.

Anyone want to take a crack at an EA on it? I am a -100/10 as a programmer. If this is as accurate as it indicates it would make a great EA.

In the couple of hours I have spent playing with it the higher timeframes it could almost be a stand-alone. Lower timeframes require filter.

However coding a simple 'buy on blue, sell on red"...

Hi,

I have tried to upload the indicator to my chart on MT4. I see the file in Custom Indicators but clicking on the file is no use. Do you have any other suggestions.

Kind regards

Price probably reached BreakEvenPips level, then retraced and the order closed at LockPips level giving one pip profit.

Dunno. Don't think that was the prob. But I am not having the same issue today. Also I switched demo accounts so that may be a factor. Also i was doing back testing at the time so maybe i hit a shortcut key that i didnt know about.

All is well at this point. Thanks for the swift response.

Uranus v0.2 can use Center of Gravity, NonLagMA_v7.1 and PriceChannel_Stop_v1.2 for entries and exits. The timeframe of each indicator is now user defined. My signature contains the download link.

Just rename it to Uranus.rar instead of _Uranus.rar_ and open it with Izarc.

Hi every one

I currently use some thing similar to what you guys have been discussing. I use RSI bars with a slope indicator and when it hits rock bottom I buy. I dont short at tops simply coz I find buying more easy then selling but the system can be used for selling too which is just like what you guys are doing with Uranus indicator.

I wanted to ask if some one had programming knowledge to put the attached indicator in to the indicator window. Currently it only shows on the price indicator and I want it to work according to the values of the indicator window and not the price window.

I believe you guys can also use this in your trading system because we are doing the same strategy with a different approach. The thread I had posted with the indicator is here if there is any one interested...

http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=207227

I hope I havent taken the focus off. I wrote this because what Im using is similar to what you guys are doing and may be the addition may help everyone.

Cheers

A possible filter is Center of Gravity. Open longs/shorts if price is below/above blue line and only follow its direction and/or curve.

Hi Xux,
I have found CoG (Centre of Gravity) working well, especially on M5,M15, M30TFs, for the possible extreeme/s I also have been using STARC Bands, or Bollinger Bands set on std 3, though I find Starc Bands better. Also noticed for the last 2/3 years on G/U on H4 TF that Starc bands have been providing a good indication of poss extreeme. On M5 to M15 TF gearing, correlation of Starc bands with COG together with meaningful fractal at London hrs provides me with some good short term trades. I use some other filters too, but for the intraday trading going in the direction of the H1 trend is producing some good results. I am also testing the way of classifing fractals and I have been using Tom DeMark to that end, but have found the 3_Level_ZZ_semafor useful, though I am still in the process of testing that one (need more then a 1 years perspective). Please note that it repaints, esp the 3 one, but close to the extreeme indicated by CoF or Starc bands, it is less likely to repaint.
For the intraday I use H1 to M15 to M5 TFs gearing to see the intraday cycles, and if in doubt or at strong trending days I would only go in the direction of H1 trend. ( one of the simpler definition of trend can be found at Trading DiNapoli Levels), by all means it is not the only definition of trend.
I have atttached these two indicators, have a look, you migh find them useful too.
Wishing you many good trades,
2be

Thank you for the indicators. I have used 3 Level ZZ Semaphore to define extreme points but STARC Bands is accurate as well.

Well done to team Uranus EA!

I have a small issue on my VPS Metatrader (build 225)

I keep getting indicator errors as below;

2009.12.03 12:30:51Center of Gravity EURJPY,H4: invalid time value for ObjectMove function

Strangely, this only happens on a Live account. It works 100% correctly on demo account with zero errors.

Thanks,

Nick

Your MT4 platform will save the data feed from demo and live accounts into different folders in your history folder. When you use a new account or if you haven't used the live account for a while, there may be a lack of data, or strange data gaps where the new data is appended to the old data from months ago. This can cause time-related problems when an indicator or EA cannot find bars in the past that it requires.

I have no idea if this is your problem. In any case, I would try to erase all history data f this pair in your live server folder, and then scroll back on the chart and populate it with recent live server data. Often that resolves the problem.
