Steve et al,
Do share the result of V3 on your Demo a/c on NFP day fluctuations/spikes etc.
I have taken the EA down as I'm trading on live a/c.
BTW I made 10% on my a/c in 24 hrs. It was scary to be honest as the size of the lots was bigger than I anticipated. On my limited capital, frankly I was scared so closed 3 baskets manually w/o taking full profit as NFP was on the anvil. Otherwise I may have made about 15% (1 closed basket was = 3%).
The DD has gone down considerably. After NFP I'll try to trade yet smaller amount (if it works on 0.01/$1000).
Awaiting your next ver. incorporating Scooby's suggestions about TP.

when i joined this thread i had no idea this is going to be so educational ... I have learned more following this thread over the past 2 weeks then i can even summarize. Thank you Steve and Scooby-Doo i wish many pips to you both

I know how you feel; it is amazing the insights to be gained here. It has been a learning process for all of us associated with KG's methods from the start and so much is clear now that was a mystery in the past.

Every time I think the robots are complete, along comes someone with another bright idea/ideas. The latest ones take the biscuit, though. Lucky us, is all I can say.

100% agree with you. I am just extremely glad the DD is now kept to a minimum.

Quick question : I setup a demo with $1000 using 0.01 per $1000 and 0.02 base lot however EA prints 0.01 as base lot on my chart. Should I switch it to manual lot calculation or is it supposed to be like that?
I am just trying to figure out how to scale the v3 back to smaller lot sizes so I can use it on a say $1000 account rather then $10,000

Yes, switch back to manually setting your lot size; using auto-calculation will give you 0.01 on these settings.

That may sound on the low side to many but if its your own money then i guess the main idea is to open/close the basket asap.

Yes, this I wanted to suggest yesterday, But I was afraid.

Yesterday morning I saw, that GBP basket made by V3 is in profit 18 USD, but in loss 25 pips. I took screenshots.
But it may be reversed too - profit in pips and loss in dollars. When this situation occurs, it will deepen the DD.
So can we think about using metod based on Dailly cross? Computing lots not only from value but from difference between strength (like in Daily cross) too?

Hi guys this is excellent work - esp Steve and others.

I've been using Cluster Analysis before reading this thread.
My opinion is that it can be superb tool. However, I'd feel more comfortable mixing it with related approaches, namely: -

1)Predictive indicators
2)Intermarket analysis - ie gold, oil , S&P, US-Treasuries etc etc
3)News and fundamental models.
4)Order flow dynamics etc - eg those pertaining to times of day etc ( Scooby Do obviously knows about this!)

What we're doing with Cluster Analysis IMO, is picking the "stongest force / movement" and speculating that it will continue. Ofcourse thats good, but we need to be aware of lagging issues and what other forces may assist or negate that movement.

Now to me, mixing above points 1) and 2) may be an easy(ish!) way to improve this magnificent EA even further.

Therefore, I'm wondering can people: -
1)Add some predictive indicators to the EA( or indicator)

2)Add a multimarket perspective to the coding ( as we currently have a multicurrrency one).
Here I'm thinking of eg assessing risk appetite vs risk aversion etc

I've written EAs but my coding is by no means a strength of mine.

So 8 key components might be :-
Dollar, Euro, Yen, US-Treas, S & P, Swiss Franc, oil, gold etc etc

Or it could be considered in pairs: -
S&P vs Dollar, Euro-Yen, AD-CF etc etc

This way we're really looking at "market drivers" and filtering out potentially offputting market noise.
Maybe a "spin off" thread may be an idea?

Steve are magic numbers automatically generated? I am concerned that if I eventually do take it live it will interfere with other trades, but I'm sure you have already covered this - just I cannot see it in the pdf or inputs.

Scroll down the inputs to -----Pair-specific inputs-----. You will find the magic numbers for strong and weak baskets for each trigger.

just a USD basket trigger (original) all open and close immediately for loss of spread, presumable because I haven't changed the magic numbers between the 2 systems?

Probably. Using the same magics for two systems will cause the same chaos here it would cause anywhere else.

Yep. It is because you don't have the indi loaded onto a chart. Ignore it, it doesn't matter.

Most of our attention is focussed on the scooby-doo robot thread.

In the meantime here, sd's enhancements have dramatically reduced the drawdown on open baskets.
