In the pic above to the very far left this is one more run of 347 pips which is easily survivable. Another 2 or 3 level trade that recovered nicely.

NZD interest rate Wed. If they change it follow the trend on that one. Market has shown strong volatility on any change or even non change recently.

Does anyone have a MA cross that gives an alert and posts a message. The one I have posts every hour on a 1 hour chart or every 30M on a 30M chart, etc. I need one that will just post at the time of the cross not every time it makes a new candle.

Hey Bob,
See if this will work for you. It puts an arrow on the chart and sends an email. You can set the cross to be any moving average you desire. I don't have the .mq4 file.

Let me know if that will work.

I need one I can get into the code. This one seems to work better than mine though. Does more of what I want it to do.

Well this is going to be an exciting week with prices bouncing all over the place. Interest rate news
MON AUD (expecting an increase)
WED USD
THURS EUR, GBP

Recently no news or no change in the interest rate has been very exciting. There have been big moves on currencies, some moving over 300 pips in a matter of hours, when they havent changed their rates and long trends lasting weeks when they do. I would not want to take the 60x90 into these news stories. I dont think it has enough range to handle these kind of moves when there are interest rate changes. I will not even use my 180x100 during this week. I will be using the 40MA BB on pairs not effected by the news. If you are going to trade this week do not play a lot of one kind of currency. In other words dont have 5 AUD pairs going at once. Maybe 2, same with all the others. Take your 2 or 3 favorites and trade them.

VERY IMPORTANT. MAJOR NEWS ALWAYS TRUMPS INDICATORS. If any country changes its interest rate just follow the trend. They probably will run 2-3 weeks in one direction so follow it. If they dont change there have been big moves for about a 24-36 hour period. So trade with care.

the 180x100 is what I use on my live account. 40 MA BB is also used on a 4H chart. I will be cautious this week and trade fewer pairs.

There is nothing new under the sun, most of the ideas here I picked up elsewhere but I think I was able to bring the whole philosophy together. Your BB bands may work better if you went 2.4.6 to give you more range. I like S/R levels but I am finding pivot points not to be so accurate. If someone took my 40MA bands and had them reentery at deviations 2.4.6.8 instead of a set number the EA would automatically adjust to every currencies range and volatility. SO the GBP/JPY bands would be farther apart than the EUR/CHF. I think that would be a great EA.

Indeed there is nothing new under the sun. Those parameters could work better but I'm not testing any bband based system at the moment. I don't really like optimizing the MA. I use median over mean as much as possible. I prefer quantile pivots. That style of pivot keeps every thing the same ratio when the range changes, on any pair. Watch that spread of course. But I think it is a mistake to assume that because there was a wide model range, that it would remain wide for you. A robust EA would be awesome.

I wonder what is the minimum amount(LIVE) of money so I can put the EA 4h 180/100, else, I'm using this EA in tf15 min, I wonder if you have any suggestions to help me because I'm young and their EA has been very good.

I post them every week but just go to Calendar and click on the boxes. They will give you a summary of each news story. You will pick up the lingo over time. Just a matter of learning what Each country calls it. Also visit the news section you will find info there also. Click on the tabs here at FF and read. That is how I learned this stuff.

Can anyone code this into my system. I am working on a trend following system but I like using my multi level EA. The code would go like this.

If Price is below a MA line and the trade is a buy set SL @

I want the same thing for a sell. It would go like this:

If Price is above a MA line and the trade is a sell set SL @

In other words what I am trying to do is multi level in the direction of the trend so the retracements are picked up but if price reverses and crosses a certain MA line. It will close the trades and go in the trends direction because of the cross. Let me know if that can be added to my already exisiting EA.

USD -> FOMC Statement
EUR -> Minimum Bid Rate
GBP -> Official Bank Rate
AUD ->Cash Rate & RBA Rate Statement

this is the only interest rate news (for that pairs) or it my be others?

I have something similar EA which of course is altered version of your EA.

My observations are:
Instead of price above or below MA, it is better to have, say 5EMA crossing another MA (I use 21SMA on H4) . You can chose the TF for trend direction. I prefer to use trade TF be lower at H1. All trades in one direction are closed at trend change.
I prefer using a large TP with a trailing SL and keep levels to just 2.
I will post this EA later after you finalize your ideas.

Bob,

Here is the EA. Please see if it suits your requirement. Any other minor alterations I should be able to do. My idea is to use this along with the regular EA so that you can have some cushion. ( only possible with brokers that allow hedging)
Another EA has also been added which is simple EMA cross on a TradeTF (No different Trend EMA used). Buffer is allow for ema to cross by certain points.
