What broker is this? Also, are you sure this is the "Robby DSS Bressert Colored with alert v1.1" and not the original v1.1?

Ok I am a complete gnob. I didn't have the section for indis open enough to see the full names and just did 1.1. I was thinking based on your previous work you always labeled it 1.1.

My complete bad. Sorry to have wasted your time.

No problem at all.

Our clothes Dryer stopped working last month and so we called the repair man from Sears to come out and fix it. After about 30 seconds he came out of the laundry room and said he was all finished. I asked what wrong and he said, it was unplugged. That cost me a service call. LOL

Now that's funny. Thanks you made me feel better.

We bought a fancy schmancy (ok my wife did) Samsung set 1 year and 6 weeks before we had issues just recently. The washer is spent. We waited 6 weeks for delivery but they said the warranty was from purchase, not delivery. It is now 8 weeks since the guy was first out to fix it and it still isn't fixed but.... On what it has cost to keep getting him out I could have bought a new one and had it delivered. So I bought a 40 yr old one at a garage sale for $15, spent $10 on a belt while we await a new main mother board or whatever it's called, and you can't kill that old sucker.

I think it's an Amana.

Anyways. Just thinking. Is it possible to add an optional email alert to this. Would be good for longer time frames. The option to nag (or not) every X mins until you get to your charts and turn it off would be handy if possible.

Thanks again!

Hope it works for you. I have been watching it steadily and must say it can help a trader both in ranges and for trends which I do not think there are many indis like that.

For all you programmers out there.

This is not Martingale (doubling up lots after a trade) but something a little different and yet similar.

We've all seen trades where everything indicates we should be ie buying. Then the market tells us we're wrong and reverses, and everything says we should be selling...and price runs for 50 (or whatever) pips, and we get out with a small loss o the first trade, bank our pips on the 2nd.

So my challenge is to program into any ea that has half decent functionality, a 'loss make-up". Here is what I mean.

You are trading 10 lots, SL is 20, Limit is 50. You take a 5 pip loss on (let's say a buy) your first trade and are entering a reverse trade to short. The EA would would calculate how many lots or partial lots it should add to the next trade to make up the loss calculated according to your limit.

Here's the math:

10 Lots, 5 pip loss ($500)
Limit is 50 pips on next trade. 10 lots @ 50 pip limit = $5,000 but $500 needs to be made up.

So the EA calculates that at a 50 pip limit to make up $500 would need an extra $10, or 1 lot, added to the next trade. Making the trade an 11 lot trade.

So if the limit is hit at 50 pips, you have netted $5000, not $4500.

Of course limits won't always be hit etc. However on the good runs, even if your limit is not hit and you take a profit you are further ahead.

It should have the ability to be activated or not. And have risk % and some sort of comfort threshold.

Hopefully I am making sense.

If you're wondering yes I do use this manually in my day trading.

Happy pipping!

This is the first version of the EA and uses DSS Bressert indicator only. We welcome all members to suggest any additional filters and indicators that would improve this EA.

I have not yet tested the Uranusv0.1 EA but from reading the manual I can see it is diligent and well done. I like the DSS indie on my 1hr charts to filter direction but I make my entries on the 15min and 5min and for that, I find PriceChannel_Stop_v1.2 indie (one of the best indies i've seen) superior for making entries.

Based on my own manual trading and back testing I know an EA that uses a PriceChannel trigger with DSS as a filter on the 1hr TF to make entries while keeping everything else the same as currently is in Uranusv0.1 would produce vastly superior results. Looking forward to ur response. Feel free to PM or email me regarding this as my status does not allow me to do so. - Best to all.

It could be renamed to "Indicator mods", isn't it?

Hi xux99,
Nice looking EA. In the PDF you have given me credit for the DSS Bresset indicator. I deserve no such credit. I did not write it, I only modified it for an alert. I would very much appreciate if you could remove me name for the credit and repost the PDF thanks for all your quality work on this.

Regards, Scott

Robby just happens to be the guy who made the original indi. Never had any comms with him. seems to me he trades with it as a filter but i personally think it can be used as a trade instigator.

I have run it on a 1 min chart today and it executes perfectly (just 1 min to see the execution). I plan on using it with manual confirmation (I never do full auto) on higher up charts. Hopefully it will help me from getting up at 1a.m. unless there is a trade to be made!

I think with adjustments it can easily be used on lower TF. To each his own.

Happy pipping!

Thanks PJ, will give it a try, I'm not an EA trader but always suspicious, lol.

It could serve for manual trading signals if they are good when taking in mental account S&R levels.

BTW: with robby I meant robot ==> EA.

Hi Scott

I shall remove your name. I just found this link for DSS Bressert. The coder of the indicator is Rosh and the formula was written by Walter Bressert.

Got it Cobra. The Robby thing. I will try and remember where I found his indi and let him know a fantastic EA was built around it.

I never trust EAs either but I use them with manual confirmation. Makes it easier. Window pops up and I can decide in seconds if I want to take the trade. Jonesy has built a couple of EAs I use every day and this one by Xux will definitely be part of the arsenal.

Regarding the price Channel indi from another post I use something similar and agree it is a fantastic indi.

There are several ways to trade and I am curious to see how people will use this. So post some charts traders! Sometimes I throw on a different template just to give the brain a different perspective. As I have mentioned in some other threads I do this for a living and support a bunch of things/people with trading so I would not have started the thread if I didn't think a new trader would benefit from this.

So again a big giant "you're awesome" to Xux and Jones. Xux99 built the EA, SMJONES improved the indi and added alert (which I goofed on at first like a complete boob. Story is within the thread)

I hope this makes people $! KISS and you shall prosper!

Junky

PJ, I changed the popup alert to playsound (in the indicator), now my question:

Should the EA with the default settings take a trade when alarm is given?

I have it running since hours and had sound alarms but no trade triggered by the EA.

Like I said, I didn't change anything else than the lot size and TP.

I'm familar with the EA as most settings are also coded in the THV EA xux coded but maybe I'm making some stupid mistake.
